Regional Food Bank

Governor Kathy Hochul announced the grand opening of a state-of-the-art food distribution center in Montgomery, Orange County. This 50,000-square-foot facility will expand the Regional Food Bank of the Hudson Valley's capacity to serve over 179,000 people facing food insecurity across the region. The center will support over 400 local food programs, providing essential resources and improving food storage and distribution capabilities. Funded through state investments and private donations, this facility represents a significant step in addressing food insecurity and ensuring access to fresh, nutritious food for Hudson Valley communities. Our BackPack Program helps alleviate child hunger by discreetly providing participating children with bags of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food every Friday afternoon, so they have food to eat throughout the weekend. In 2024, 1.8 million meals were provided to more than 7,000 kids throughout our service area.

Our ops team spent a few minutes before the holiday break on a team building exercise where they tried to build the tallest tower using only one sheet of newspaper and some tape. A great chance to be resourceful and creative and take a few minutes to enjoy each other's company after a very busy holiday season. Let's hear it for our winners!
