December 31,2024 marks a critical time for those centered on food insecurity when it comes to SNAP. With a change in administration, concerns over card skimming and a possible budget neutral approach to the program (even with higher food costs), 2025 could mark some critical impacts for hunger relief. FoodBridge, LLC is committed to enabling hunger relief organizations with the technology and resources necessary to meet the increasing demand for food and nutrition for our insecure neighbors. https://lnkd.in/eMhzinn8

Let’s all remember as we plan our family get togethers and travel that Food Banks across the country like the Greater Chicago Food Depository are preparing to feed our neighbors in need for the holiday. Thank you to all of the hunger relief volunteers, workers and staff that make this possible every year (and every day really) from all of us at FoodBridge, LLC. #gratitude #foodbanks #foodpantries #hungerrelief
This is what the Friday before Thanksgiving looks like at the Greater Chicago Food Depository: The shipping area of our warehouse is packed with food that will be delivered in the days ahead and our operations and transportation teams are in overdrive. What you see in the photo is only a fraction of the food we will distribute between now and Thanksgiving - some of it traditional "holiday" food like turkeys, sweet potatoes, cranberries and stuffing, but also other core items that individuals and families need, every day. I am so humbled by and grateful for everyone on the Food Depository team who makes this possible - from the individuals who have sourced the food, to our community impact, operations and transportation team members, to those who have recruited volunteers, raised dollars and helped us lift our voice. I'm also inspired beyond belief by our amazing partners, who open their doors - week after week - to anyone who needs food. #gratitude

There are so many platforms, apps and widgets available to hunger relief organizations. It can be overwhelming for the staff at these organizations, even in IT related areas to keep track and manage them all. Some are build for fundraising, some are for program enrollment, some are for fulfillment and warehousing and more. What if there was one platform that could allow food banks and pantries to do all of these things via text, email, online and integrate it with current systems? We might have something that fits. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the people impacted yet by another powerful storm in the gulf. Many food banks and pantries are not only catching up from Helene, but now are going to be helping those in need again in the coming weeks. Please do all you can to support them and all the first responders, neighbors and businesses impacted if you can.

It’s refreshing to see efforts to close the food desert gap in our country. At FoodBridge, LLC we build off our roots as an industry commerce company BlueSky Commerce and conversational AI partner KLaunch to build a truly automated experience for food banks, their partner pantry locations and the neighbors they serve. Even if you have 20-30 or more pick up locations, we can help get the food to the places in need. We can engage and grow neighbor awareness, and streamline operations. We are ready to serve. https://lnkd.in/euz-kssg

Thank you Josh Ross and to the entire team involved. Like Josh, many of us, including myself have a personal deep connection to food insecurity. I remember how difficult it was for my mother, coming off a divorce and supporting two kids at home and another abroad while working a low paying job to put food on the table. We have traveled the country and heard from many food banks, pantries and other organizations fighting this battle on the ground. We think we have a great solution, and for the conversational AI component, can prove it. If you or someone you know wants to be a part of this fight with us, please reach out to me. I will personally show you how we at FoodBridge, LLC along with KLaunch and BlueSky Commerce are ready to tackle this problem in our country.
There are four primary barriers to fundamental and noble societal change: lack of education, will, fear, and politics. These are the greatest enemies of genuine progress. For over two years, we have toiled and invested more than a million dollars, donated our technology, and dedicated countless man-hours to a mission project aimed at ending the systemic cycle of hunger in America. Our goals are to provide high-quality, low-cost food to those in need, programs and partnerships that uplift our neighbors out of these conditions, and a model to deliver a self-sustaining funding ecosystem for food banks and hunger relief organizations for the first time. To my fellow visionaries Todd Irwin Jason Ross Eric Warne Kevin Lyons Baron Lam Vagelis Hristidis Lori Winkler John Kidd Bill Gardner Gary Angotti Erinn Miles, PMP BlueSky Commerce KLaunch who have been part of this project—whether on the board, development teams, business development, delivery, or as advisors AgriNovus Indiana Mitch Frazier Geoff Zentz Slalom Christopher Conley Jim Goldschlager Rob Cavaliere Amazon Uber Eats DoorDash Thomas Meharey Lantrasoft and many others — I thank you wholeheartedly! I know this has been difficult to get moving and adopted as most great change is, and I also know you have made zero dollars for your contributions, but you’ve stayed the course knowing your contributions and impact will be felt positively throughout society and that is commendable and worthy of mention! Our technology and solutions are complete, and more information is available at myfoodbridge.com This mission is personal for me. My wife and I relied on assistance early in our lives, and we were able to climb out and up! Americans need better options and a hand up vs a hand out, and I want to end the perpetual cycle of me and my colleagues being asked to donate thousands every year, only to face the same need again the next year. Non-profits need a self-sustaining business model; otherwise, they will continuously struggle to secure the necessary donations and funds to make impacts. They need actual data on those receiving benefits to ensure they are really helping vs over serving the same systemic populations without a plan and strategy. It isn’t working folks - Feeding America is rapidly running out of funds and food banks and hunger relief orgs are scrambling on their own to serve their communities. Some have means through large donors and some don’t, they all need assistance and we have the answer. There is so much change needed and I hope you will join us to become part of the solution!

What a great testament to a grocer executive and philanthropist committed to ending food insecurity. The question will be how do Food Banks best utilize this generosity with programs that matter to reach more people. We may have an idea! Any Feeding Texas hunger relief organization should connect with us to learn more about how we can help get to more Texans in need! https://lnkd.in/grqKyyvv

Many hunger relief organizations we work and talk with hold a couple of common traits. One, they are not well informed about all the grants and other funding options available to them in their state, community or federal level that support the very things they are trying to solve. Two, they may be informed but are overwhelmed because they don't have the luxury of time or resources to complete the process to access some of this funding. There are good places to start at the federal level like SAM and Grants.gov. If you work for a hunger relief organization or know someone who does, please reach out to us and we would be happy to navigate the waters with you and unlock access to great resources to end food insecurity together! https://lnkd.in/gSpCyFVS
