➡️Insights and nice memories from the Mendel University, Czech Republic 🌳From May 13 to 17, ForDiL project partners, teachers and experts in forestry met in Brno and in the Mendel University (MENDELU), in Czech Republic. This transnational meeting is looked back by the Belgian, French and Czech participants as one of the highlights of the ForDil Erasmus+ project. Participants have had the unique opportunity to discover the unique expertise of MENDELU in forestry. Few other universities on the continent have such extensive, continuous, and species-diverse forests in close proximity to the school. In the forests, a third of which are located in a protected landscape area, students can try out managing forest resources in an era of climate change. 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐦, 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐳𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐃𝐢𝐋 🌳 One of the goals of the ForDiL Erasmus+ project is training future actors of the forest and especially allowing the learners from three educational institutions (Mendel University in Brno in Czech Republic, institut technique horticole de Gembloux in Belgium and Lycee professionel de bavay in France to contribute to the development of digital training tool on the 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 (CCF) approach training tool through interaction with peers and forest professionals on sustainable management of forest. 👨💻In that respect, from April 2 to April 5, students, teachers and forestry experts from Belgium, France and Czech Republic met in Gembloux (Belgium) to exchange on CCF, in a theoretical and practical way. 💱 It was a unique opportunity for the 27 participants to develop scientific and transversal skills. Students were also able to provide key learnings for the future development of the 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗗𝗶𝗟 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽. 👉For more info and a glance on the outcomes of that “transnational mobility week”: https://lnkd.in/dPs_62sF #Fordil #CCF #continuouscoverforestry #Erasmus+

🚀 The Société Royale Forestière de Belgique ( Belgium), in partnership with the Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU, Czech Republic), the Institut de Genech (UFA, France), the institut technique horticole de Gembloux (ITH, Belgium) and the CENTRE DE DEVELOPPEMENT AGROFORESTIER DE CHIMAY (CDAF, Belgium), has launched a new Erasmus+ project called "ForDiL" for "forest digital learning". 🌳 This project aims to promote learning about the continuous cover forestry (CCF) approach using digital tools. 🍁 The project aims to create up-to-date training content for current and future forest managers and owners to develop their skills in this new approach to forest management with total autonomy. Several activities are planned, including developing a marteloscope and travailloscope integrating the CCF approach. The target users are forest managers and students in silvicultural or forestry courses at vocational schools and higher education establishments. 📲 Following a research and decision-scheme design phase, the partners are developing and testing these two tools, which will then be integrated into a field-usable application. Students and teachers from the partner institutions are involved in tool testing, CCF exchanges with other European students, and forest stand visits. ✅ The project's expected outcome is an English, French, and Czech application offering forestry learners and teachers/trainers a digital tool enabling them to experience the CCF approach autonomously in a virtual and practical way. This application will also guide professionals in sustainable forest management decision-making and autonomy. 📆 This project started at the end of 2023 and will run out for three years. 👉 More informations : https://lnkd.in/e93GxTne
