These 53ft, 18,000 lb. cross-laminated timber shear walls include glulam "flanges" to develop the chord forces and assist with carrying gravity loads from the beams framing into the core. The chord tension forces are then transferred into the foundations with a carefully detailed knife plate and dowel connection. Forming the building's central core, the all-wood shear walls are prominently displayed in the elevator lobby and tenant spaces.
