For The Kids is dedicated to creating a better world for kids one meal at a time. We are committed to serving those most vulnerable by engaging the community to help those underserved right in our own backyards. We currently provide weekend meal kits to over 560 children facing hunger at 6 Title 1 schools in the Salt Lake Valley. The kids in our program rely on eating breakfast and lunch at school during the week to get the sustenance they need, but they oftentimes go home on the weekends to little or no food. That's where we step in, to fill that void and ensure these kids have enough to eat over the weekend so they can return to school on Monday with a full tummy, better able to focus & learn. We rely on the community for donations of the food items we use most in our weekend meal kits. Food drives are the lifeforce that sustains us, in addition to monthly pickups from the Utah Food Bank. We welcome individuals, families, community groups, churches & businesses to host food drives to help us keep our shelves full, which helps keep the kids' bellies full, too! We also have opportunities to serve with us through bag packing events, which occur on Wednesdays & Fridays, by appointments, via Signup Genius, We also have opportunities to help with providing Full Thanksgiving Meals to families in need, as well as our Holiday Break Drives & Sub 4 Santa Drive.
