🚴♂️ Extreme bike tuner Gustav Gullholm aka Dangerholm makes science fiction rideable!
With #TRUMPF, Scott Sports SA, and Faction Bike Studio, he unveiled a fully operational mountain bike prototype at Eurobike 2024, featuring a revolutionary handlebar design.
It all started with a wooden handlebar and ended up in metal 3D printing with aluminum. The unparalleled design freedom of 3D printing made the handlebar with integrated cable channels lightweight, durable, and easy to maintain.
"From a technical point of view, 3D printing pushes the boundaries in terms of form and function. This enables us to build a technically perfect handlebar for Gustav that eliminates everything visually disruptive," states Maxime Lallemand, the engineer at Scott behind the handlebar.
For the derailleur components, Faction Bike Studio stepped in. These exposed and error-prone components, such as the cage and the parallelogram, were printed with a special titanium alloy, taking stability and design to a new level.
This collaboration pushes the boundaries of bike manufacturing, merging aesthetics and functionality in a way that was previously unimaginable.
