In fact, he said that in the early days of Microsoft, he really didn’t even believe in them, Gates told Northern Arizona University’s graduating class in 2023. “When I was your age, I didn’t believe in vacations. The employee backlash over JPMorgan Chase’s 5-day-a-week return to work mandate is gaining momentum. Several workers have reached out to the Communications Workers of America about forming a union shortly after the country’s biggest bank increased its in-office policy from three to five days a week. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said investment banks could use AI to cut down on rote tasks like writing financial documents. Bankers used to have to spend weeks at a time drafting documents to be submitted for public filings. But at the Cisco AI Summit in Palo Alto, Solomon said that 95% of an S1 filing, which is the form a company files with the Securities and Exchange Commission when it goes public, can be completed by AI in just a few minutes.  Read more: https://lnkd.in/eh2nxTD6

Young professionals seem to have no qualms about taking liberties with their jobs, saying it’s OK to sometimes snooze on the clock or use their work equipment for personal use. According to a new study, 95% of staffers aged between 18 and 34 said some form of “workplace cheating” is to be expected—whether that’s clocking off early, unexpectedly turning up late, or using AI to complete assigned tasks. Facial recognition tech is causing wrongful arrests—yet police continue using it despite its flaws. A new investigation reveals how AI is leading to grave injustices, especially for Black Americans, with little to no accountability from law enforcement or lawmakers. The lack of oversight, flawed algorithms, and bias in these systems make this a massive failure on multiple fronts. It's time to demand stricter regulations before AI harms more innocent people. Elon Musk has already begun slashing the price of his entry-level Cybertruck after it has only been on offer for just one quarter. In October, Tesla began collecting orders for its non-Foundation Series vehicles, including the standard all-wheel drive version, which retails for just below $80,000—the ceiling for commercial vehicles eligible to receive federal EV tax credits. There’s a major misalignment in the hiring landscape right now. While applications are abundant, employers say it’s becoming harder to find and hire the right people. And it could be due to both workers, as well as HR leaders, failing to focus on the right skills. More than half of people plan to look for a new job in 2025, according to LinkedIn’s new Work Change report.
