If swimming is a life skill,  competitive swimming is a life lesson. It teaches discipline, hard work, and goal setting. With this new facility, competitive swimming in northeast Indiana will take a massive leap to the forefront of competitive swimming in the country. We will have the ability to host national-level competitions, with Olympic level athletes from all over the country. This facility will immediately improve the quality of competitive swim in the region, and inspire area swimmers to achieve inside the pool and out. Swimming is one of the best aerobic activities for persons of all fitness levels and ages. It can be a great low-impact workout for people preparing for and/or recovering from surgeries, and high intensity training for competitive athletes. Learning to swim is a life skill that many take for granted. But not everyone has access to learning to swim; The current facilities in Fort Wayne are crowded, and many are beyond capacity. A new facility will not only help those in the immediate vicinity, but will also open up opportunities at the existing facilities to better support the community.
