We engage the community to support and empower foster youth aging out of the system to become self-sufficent adults.

About us

Foster Nation increases positive outcomes for neglected and abused foster youth by providing them with a strong network of resources and support that contributes to their long-term success in the pursuit of employment and life beyond the system. The Young Leaders Collective is comprised of entrepreneurs, servant leaders, movers & shakers, professionals, change-agents, former foster youth, self-starters and champions of the foster care system. Our objective is to spearhead campaigns and events that 1. Raise awareness of the foster care system 2. Help to de-stigmatize being associated with the foster care system while empowering former foster youth to be leaders and advocates 3. Engage the public to make supporting the success of foster youth a national priority. Our vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of foster youth that are contributing members of society in the US.

1,000 foster youth age out of the system every year in LA County. They are handed a trash bag and a list of homeless shelters and sent out into the world.   The funds you've helped raise will be used to create "next step kits" for these youth. The kits include toiletries, hygiene items, gift cards, blankets, clothing, and other essentials.   Thank you to everyone who contributed!

  • 🎁HELP US GET THE WORD OUT! 🎁 We’re excited to announce our holiday gift drive to get presents for foster youth who will spend the holidays without family and without a single gift to open. Everyone is “Worthy of Kindness” and if you believe that too, we’d love for you to be a positive “spark” by selecting a personal gift request from a youth, showing them they are seen, valued, and worthy of kindness. Foster youth had the opportunity to ask for anything, take a look at some of the items that they said would mean the most to them! (p.s. all gifts are under $50) Help us reach our goal of granting all 300 holiday gift requests by making a donation today! 🎄🎅🏼 You can create your own fundraising page for your friends, family, and colleagues to support foster youth here: https://lnkd.in/gw_E9AQv

  • Some moments remind us why we do what we do. Euronymous shared his dream with Foster Nation’s founder, Maggie, about becoming an Ironman triathlete—not just for himself, but as the first to do it in honor of Foster Nation and all former foster youth! With a scholarship in hand and a heart full of determination, he’s setting out to inspire others and prove that foster youth can overcome any obstacle. His story reflects the resilience and ambition we see in so many youth we support. Join us in cheering him on Euronymous Fernandez supporting more foster youth as they chase their dreams! 💙

  • Meet Lidia, who entered the foster care system at just 6 years old. Despite the uncertainty and constant changes of moving between homes, she remained focused on her education, knowing it was her ‘way out.’ School became her safe space, where supportive teachers and friends helped her thrive. Now, as a proud graduate and advocate for foster youth, Lidia is making an incredible impact working with AB12 youth. Her advice for those in foster care: 'Trust your instincts! You know what’s best for you, so believe in yourself!' We are SO inspired by Lidia’s resilience and dedication to empowering others in the foster care community. 💙 Want to help create more success stories like Lidia’s?
