Today, FOUND3R expressed opposition to the "Divest-or-Ban TikTok Bill" currently under consideration in the US Senate. Representing over 1,700 small businesses and startups across America, the independent organization released a statement and fact sheet addressing the concerns of its members and the broader community. "FOUND3R stands in solidarity with independent content creators, recognizing that the TikTok bill imposes limitations on their ability to reach audiences. We believe alternative solutions exist to address the concerns raised by the House, Senate, and White House without resorting to leveraging the work of individual creators and their assets. Our organization advocates for a more equitable approach that upholds the interests of content creators while achieving the desired policy objectives." David All, founder and contributor of FOUND3R, released the following statement representing more than 1,700 small businesses and startups that drive innovation, job creation, and economic growth in America. "As an advocacy community based in Washington, DC, FOUND3R is dedicated to leveling the playing field for Main Street and Keeping Innovation Competitive. We are deeply concerned about the potential ban on TikTok, which could inadvertently hinder growth and innovation for small businesses that rely on social media and digital engagement strategies to connect with their target audiences. While we acknowledge the importance of national security and privacy concerns, we urge policymakers to consider the broader impact of such a ban on small businesses and the digital economy. Fair and open policies are essential to ensuring that all businesses, regardless of size, have the opportunity to compete and thrive." ### #tiktokban #banningtiktok #keepinnovationcompetitive #smallbusiness #entrepreneurs #startups #socialmedia #digitalengagement

“Bitcoin ETFs are good news on Wall Street and Main Street. Their approval validates this emerging technology and empowers a new generation of innovators, builders and entrepreneurs across America. Independent creators and early stage startups are the true pioneers exploring this digital frontier - in fact, more than 90% of Web3 blockchain startups in America have less than 50 employees. Now is the time for bipartisan leadership to come together and establish regulatory clarity ensuring participation from innovators large and small. When we empower entrepreneurs with fair access, we strengthen the democratic values powering America's continued advancement.”

"We can think of the greater Ethereum-verse (or "web3") as creating an independent tech protocol stack, that is competing with the traditional centralized protocol stack at all levels." - Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum Founder 👏👏👏 🇺🇸 AMERICA WINS WITH WEB3 🇺🇸

ATTN FOUND3R members: New case study from Maine about the power of boots-on-the-ground in tech policy 🥾 See how L.L.Bean's local influence + alignment with existing laws amplified their voice on privacy in tech policy. Key lessons as we build our coalition of Web3 entrepreneurs, small biz founders and job creators. Article: https://lnkd.in/e6dNtd5B KEY INSIGHTS - Local and national businesses make powerful allies. L.L. Bean's testimony had major influence in Maine due to its status as a iconic brand and major employer. This shows how rallying local businesses can amplify our message for policymakers. - Focus on continuity. L.L. Bean pushed for consistency with existing privacy laws in other states rather than a new set of rules. Framing our position on Web3 policies as avoiding unnecessary burdens and discrepancies can resonate. - We need to identify local business associations and large retail companies for FOUND3R alliances beyond the tech industry and niche crypto associations. Think Starbucks, etc. - Highlight small business impacts. While enterprise can afford to run the maze of compliance, small businesses are worried about costs of compliance. We must make the case for how our positions support both innovation and regulatory certainty for startups. - Look for middle ground solutions. Identify points of agreement and ways to bridge differences rather than fight over one approach. Unified messaging connects with policy-makers. What insights do you find? Share as a comment.
