Meet Mark! Mark lives 2.2 miles from work, a distance he usually drives. But yesterday morning, he chose to walk to one of our Foundations Health Solutions nursing homes in Cincinnati. While that might not seem extraordinary on a pleasant day, yesterday was anything but. A winter storm that began yesterday brought snow, freezing temperatures, and difficult conditions to our area. Yet, Mark bundled up and braved the elements, walking the entire way to ensure he arrived at his normal start time. When asked why he didn’t call for a ride, Mark’s response was simple yet deeply inspiring: “I knew the residents needed to have clean laundry, and I was determined to make sure they had what they needed.” Mark has served our residents for 41 years. Mark does what he does for the residents, not for recognition. I hope I can be more like Mark in 2025. What an awesome person. Lets be like Mark this year!

Seeing the smiles on our residents' faces and feeling the Christmas spirit in every room, hallway, and common area is truly magical. Foundations participated in the Annual Westlake Senior Center Chili Cook-Off, where local Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities showcased their cooking skills—and we brought the heat! From The Woods on French Creek, Chef Kristin Dyer’s six-pepper blend chili, topped with cheese and cornbread, stole the show and took home first place! This fun community event gave us the chance to share our delicious food, highlight our services, and promote our exciting new Westlake location, Crocker Pointe. We loved connecting with the community, passing out chili, and seeing so many smiles. A big thank you to the Westlake Senior Center for hosting and congratulations to the Westlake Team for making this event a success!

Last week our nursing homes across the state honored our Veterans. It’s an honor to work with such great teammates and to get to care for our country’s heroes. So proud of our Foundations Health Solutions teams throughout Ohio.

This Halloween, my grandma had a wonderful time joining others for trick-or-treat at her nursing home. Seeing her smile was a reminder of why I am so committed to improving the lives of those in long-term care. Moments like these are only possible because of dedicated staff who go the extra mile to create them. Hurricane Helene has impacted hundreds of thousands of people across the east coast since it touched down in September. With many left stranded without heat, electricity, or access to food and shelter, many have been left desperate for support. As part of a culture of care, we pride ourselves on stepping up to the plate and helping those in need. That's why when teams from Glen Meadows, Terrace View Gardens, and Taylor's Pointe heard the news, they immediately jumped into action to be a lifeline for anyone they can help. Organized by the ‘Butler County to Appalachia’ effort, we contributed to donations of medical supplies, solar lanterns, coats, blankets, walkers, canes, adult briefs, batteries, flashlights, water, generators, and chainsaws. Starting in Polecreek Baptist Church in Candler, the team drove 2 hours up a mountain over electric lines and trees to Cloudland Baptist Church, where they stayed the night. They ended the trip at Silverados in Swanannoa, North Carolina. We are proud of our journey thus far, but the fight is not over. Each town is in a different phase of rebuilding, and there is an ongoing need for heaters, propane tanks, and WATER as we gear up for the winter. IT'S OFFICIAL! BENNINGTON GLEN IS PART OF THE FOUNDATIONS FAMILY!! We had an some absolutely wonderful meetings today with the staff at Bennington Glen in Marengo, Ohio, to introduce Foundations Health Solutions to them and ask any questions they might have about the transition to Foundation on December 1st. Bennington Glen has an amazing reputation, and we are excited to build on it with our Culture of Care. Chlark Guelos will be the Regional Director of Operations, and the staff already have warmed up to him. The first Picture is from our 6:30am staff meeting.
