About us
The Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) is a non-profit organization created for local entrepreneurs seeking offices, laboratory facilities, and entrepreneurial support services. FITCI’s main goal is to foster entrepreneurship in Frederick County and accelerate the development of commercial viable businesses, while generating continued job growth. Founded in 2004 in a public-private partnership, FITCI is supported by the Frederick County, City of Frederick, State of Maryland (Department of Business & Economic Development-DBED), Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), and the local business community. With two locations in Frederick, MD, one at 4539 Metropolitan Court, and the other at 321 Ballenger Center Drive, FITCI is home to a number of emerging biotechnology and information technology companies. Today, FITCI stands as a major success story of how private/public business partnerships can successfully work to meet the public sector goals while operating efficiently and cost effectively in the private sector.

A few weeks ago, we co-hosted our 15th Annual Technology Showcase with the Fort Detrick Alliance. The event featured FITCI start-ups and highlighted technology transfer opportunities with Fort Detrick and local institutions.
