Had a blast visiting Mr. Glock’s kindergarten class at Maloney Elementary this morning! 🎉 The kiddos were hard at work—some on Chromebooks, others getting creative at the art station, and a small group writing sweet Valentine’s Day messages with Mr. Glock. 💖✏️ Fremont Unified School District Christopher Wood

For this week's #FacesOfFUSD, we’re celebrating Justin Edwards, the Parent Outreach Coordinator at Walters Middle School! 💜💛 In addition to fostering connections between parents and the school community, Justin oversees the Wellness Center, where students can find a peaceful space to rest or talk through challenges with a trusted adult. He goes above and beyond to plan special events, like lunchtime trivia, to help students bond with one another in a fun and engaging way. Under Justin’s leadership, the Wellness Center has flourished, and we can’t wait to see its continued growth and impact. 🚀✨ Principal Dana Graham shares, "Justin has built strong, supportive relationships with students, fostering a sense of trust and connection. His dedication to creating a welcoming Wellness Center provides students with a safe and comforting space to relax, recharge, and seek support throughout the day!" 👏 #FremontUnified #FUSDeducate #FUSDinspire #FUSDchallenge Zack Larsen Leslie Heller Gregory Bailey

Oliveira Elementary hosted last month's Garden Network meeting, where Principal Linda Anderson highlighted the importance of student voice and integrating social-emotional learning into outdoor education. 🌱✨ Science teacher Dr Elisabeth Eklou-Boccovi led 25 students, teachers, and community members on a tour of the beautiful Oliveira garden and StoryWalk, and they also got a sneak peek of the exciting new outdoor learning space currently under construction. 🏗️ The meeting also featured EcoInnovate, a non-profit founded by Irvington HS students, who shared their innovative birdboxes that not only provide shelter for birds but also help track local bird populations. Oliveira is the first FUSD school to install one of these birdboxes! 🦜 #FremontUnified #FUSDeducate #FUSDinspire #FUSDchallenge Nate Ivy Corey Brown Johanna White
