Closing off the year on a good note! Last week, Funding Societies announced an equity investment of US$25 million from Japan's sovereign wealth fund, Cool Japan Fund. This marks the fund's first-ever investment into a fintech company in Southeast Asia. This fundraise will also mark a partnership with Cool Japan Fund クールジャパン機構 to support and provide financial services to Japanese companies expanding into Southeast Asia. “We’re honored for the commitment from Cool Japan to collaborate and support Japanese companies expanding overseas. Many businesses we serve in Southeast Asia are Japanese firms, suppliers, and/or customers to them. Under HSBC's ASEAN Growth Fund, the transaction is an accumulative of over US$100 million since we joined hands in 2022.
