See all of our current openings: https://lnkd.in/d2FCZGwK Required Qualifications - Preferably 15 years of proven experience with a legislative office, private law firm, federal, state, or regional regulatory agency, or at a company or trade association or combined professional experiences. - Experience in the oil and petroleum industry, environment - Possesses strong oral and written communication skills. - Comfortable working under strict deadlines and collaboratively with the staff, members and outside legal counsel. - Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple and diverse projects. - Bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, communications, or related field. Job Description - Manage legislative and regulatory issues of concern to the company and its members. - Provide analysis to regional, Sacramento-based staff, and contract lobbyists on various legislative and regulatory issues involving industry matters. - Support the expanded advocacy mission of the company - Register as an in-house lobbyist for the company, providing cover for the company in a variety of forums. - Work with contract lobbyists and relevant committees to promote the company's interests. - Develop and execute lobbying strategies related to issues pending and anticipated before the legislature and relevant agencies. - Draft and analyze legislative and regulatory policies to determine the impact to member companies and the petroleum and natural gas industry. - Monitor and anticipate relevant political and policy developments impacting member organizations and help develop strategies for engagement. - Assign and manage contract lobbyists and advocates on behalf of the Association. - Coordinate internally and manage projects between teams to ensure accountability, strategic alignment, and results. - Build and maintain relationships with legislators, regulators, and their staff. - Responsible for bill advocacy, analysis, tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
