Ryan Rainey, an Irish soccer athlete, has been suspended from competing after making wagers on the League of Ireland and FAI Cup games. Recognizing his mistake, the man admitted to having a problem with gambling. Rainey, a former player for the Finn Harps FC, has been charged for making multiple bets on professional soccer games despite the prohibition. His wagers were placed between 2021 and 2024, and, according to the FAI, also included bets on worldwide soccer events. The Linköping administrative court in Sweden has significantly reduced a fine imposed on Videoslots by the country’s gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen. The penalty, initially set at SEK 9 million ($827,000) for anti-money laundering (AML) and terrorist financing violations, was slashed to SEK 4 million ($367,000) after an appeal by the online casino operator. The fight about smoking in Atlantic City casinos has grown more intense. Some people who stand up for workers say Local 54 of the UNITE HERE! union takes the side of tobacco companies instead of looking out for employees. This smoking debate reached a peak on Monday when Ray Jensen, the assistant director of United Auto Workers (UAW) Region 9 told everyone that Donna DeCaprio, who runs Local 54, should quit her job, as reported by the Associated Press.
