  • On November 21, 2010, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Corporal Kyle Carpenter showed extraordinary bravery that went above and beyond the call of duty. While manning a rooftop security position, an enemy grenade landed in his sandbagged post. Without hesitation, he moved toward the grenade, shielding his fellow Marine from the deadly blast. The explosion severely wounded him, but his selfless act saved the life of his comrade. For his incredible courage and sacrifice, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. Corporal Carpenter is a true hero, and today, we salute you! 🇺🇸 #MedalOfHonorMonday

  • Do you know a Rosie the Riveter? 💪 This March, we're taking our nation's Rosies to the The National WWII Museum for a special trip to honor and thank them for their incredible service during WWII - and we still have room! Applications are due by March 4 and Rosies and their Guardian can sign up here: https://bit.ly/RosiesGSF25 Similar to our Soaring Valor trips, these inspiring women will be accompanied by high school students eager to learn from them, ensuring their stories and sacrifices will live on for generations to come. Your Rosie won't want to miss this unforgettable experience, with some exciting guests planned along the way! Every Rosie needs a Guardian, and both applications must be submitted to be considered. The guardian application is accessible via the Rosie sign up link. Help us spread the word and come together to honor these incredible women and ensure their legacy lives on.

  • This #ServiceDogSaturday, meet Officer Kora, the Asheville Police Department’s beloved therapy dog and the 2024 winner of the First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Award! 🎉🐶 During the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, as officers worked tirelessly in devastating conditions, Kora became a source of comfort and relief. Congratulations to Kora and the Asheville PD! 💙 May her story inspire more departments to invest in therapy dogs for those who serve and protect.

  • Behind every hero is another hero. On #CaregiversDay, we recognize the incredible caregivers who dedicate their lives to supporting our nation's defenders when they return home. Their strength, compassion, and sacrifice often goes unseen, but their impact is immeasurable. To all the caregivers out there - you are not alone, and you are deeply appreciated. Thank you for being the steady hands and loving hearts that help our heroes heal!

  • Another favorite moment from the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast, in honor of Mac Sinise, was when Cristin got the opportunity to sit down with U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, Paralympian, and Team USA gold medalist Jason Tabansky to talk about what it meant to represent the United States on the world stage, both in competition and service. Catch this episode, revisit past conversations, and subscribe at https://bit.ly/podcastgsf

  • U.S. Army Veteran Mary Cortani dedicated her life to service—first in the military and now through Operation Freedom Paws, the nonprofit she founded to provide life-changing service dogs to veterans and first responders. When a Marine veteran experiencing a mental health crisis needed a service dog, Mary stepped up, launching a mission that has since helped 575 veterans and 2,700+ family members. Her impact is undeniable—her program has led to a 69% decrease in suicidal ideation among graduates. A true leader, educator, and advocate, Mary continues to change lives, one veteran and one rescue dog at a time. 🐾 🇺🇸 #WarriorWednesday
