If you're like us, you're lacking a bit of motivation after the holiday break. It's ok — we've come up with a few easy tasks you can do for your website that are quick, relatively painless and are a nice way to ease back into the grind. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘂𝗽𝘀. Is your website being backed up regularly? Double-check with your hosting provider or backup tool to make sure you’ve got a recent, reliable copy of your site. It’s one of those “just in case” things you’ll be glad you did. Host with us? Relax, we got you. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Large, uncompressed images can slow down your site and frustrate visitors. Use a free tool or plugin to compress your images and improve load times. EWWW and SmushIt are good options, as is TinyPNG. Host with us? Relax, we already did this. See a theme? 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 (or any key feature). Pretend you’re a visitor and go through the process. Is the donation form working? Are the thank-you emails coming through? Catching a glitch now could save you from losing critical donations later. Finally, and this is one most people forget:  𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿. Take two minutes to swap out “2024” for “2025.” It’s a small detail, but it signals to your audience that your site is fresh and up-to-date. You don’t have to tackle all of these at once—just pick one or two to start. They’re quick wins that can help you feel productive without diving into anything too overwhelming. Perfect for shaking off the lingering effects of too many holiday cookies and getting back into the groove.

We're excited to launch this new site for the Kidney Information Network! KIN (Kidney Information Network) is an award-winning peer support network and information source. KIN helps patients deal with the emotional and health side of chronic kidney disease. The first step was modernizing the branding, including the logo. I'm really pleased how this new logo element came out. We took a large WordPress multisite down to one site and several custom post types. The new site will allow the KIN team to gather and share new resources, information and more for patients across England. Thank you to our amazing team (Erin Barr, Alison Farone, Danni Bennett, Oscar Quintero, Kasey Killeen) for their work on this site as well as our great colleagues at KIN (Dr. Cristina Vasilica, Paula Ormandy, Dr. Rachel A. Katz). We love building sites like this - resources I know that people will use to get information to help them in their everyday lives.

We also became a true one-stop shop for their website and digital marketing needs. As of last week, we’re proud to share that we now host 250 websites in three countries! These range from small 1-page landing sites to eLearning platforms with tens of thousands of users. It’s incredible to see how flexible our platform can be, supporting such a wide variety of missions. We want to give a huge thank you to our amazing clients, our partners, and our agency team for helping us reach this milestone. We couldn’t have done it without you! Here’s to the next 250. At this rate, we might just end up being a hosting company.

We've been working with Inland Counties Legal Services for a few years now, including hosting their website after their previous provider ghosted them. It was awesome to assist them with this translation project so that they can make accessing legal services in the Inland Counties even easier for Spanish speakers.
