Passionate about helping the next generation of technology innovators

So fortunate to live near Washington DC where I get to attend events showcasing new technologies and highlighting emerging leaders in the innovation ecosystem. Last night Andrew Ray and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP hosted Georgetown University’s Office of Technology Commercialization and their launch of the Gap Fund and Georgetown Technology Ventures. Sincerely humbled and inspired by John F. Crowley, Norman Beauchamp, and Tatiana Litvin-Vechnyak sharing their personal stories and their missions around the work they’re doing to combat Muscular Dystrophy, Alzheimer’s, and a host of other diseases that tragically, eventually touch all of us. It isn’t hyperbole to refer to all of them as heroes in the truest sense of the word. Write this down: Ten years from now some of the great breakthroughs in treatments and cures will have come out of what Georgetown University is building under the guidance, conviction, and determination of leaders like John, Norman, and Tatiana.

  • Technology Spotlight: Advancing Metabolic Disorder Treatment with a Natural Protein 🧬   Georgetown University researchers have discovered Fibroblast Growth Factor Binding Protein 3 (FGFBP3), a natural protein that could be a potential treatment for diabetes, obesity, and other related metabolic diseases by lowering blood glucose levels.    How it Works: 🩸The therapy utilizes fibroblast growth factor binding protein 3 (FGFBP3), which interacts with fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) to help regulate metabolism. Preclinical studies show that FGFBP3 effectively lowers blood glucose levels, reduces fat accumulation, and supports weight management.   Benefits: - Targeted Glucose Management: Specifically lowers blood glucose levels, providing a focused approach for diabetic patients. - Reduced Side Effects: May present fewer side effects compared to some conventional diabetes medications. - Fat Accumulation Reversal: Aids in reversing fat accumulation and supporting weight reduction. Market Application: 💊 Drug Development: Potential use in drug treatments for metabolic syndrome disorders such as fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes. 💉Biotechnology: Applications in developing new diagnostics and treatments for challenging metabolic disorders.   We invite you to learn more about this promising technology that could enhance treatment options for metabolic disorders.
