When large, unstable rock blocks above the rail line in Arizona posed a significant hazard, our team provided a comprehensive solution. With 140,000 SF of scaling, limited-access drilling, blasting, and shotcrete reinforcement, we successfully stabilized the cliff face and secured the rail line. The project also featured the installation of 19,000 SF of draped wire mesh, 100 LF of a hybrid attenuator system, and robust rock anchor bolts, ensuring lasting protection and safety. A landslide closed a crucial roadway, leaving it needing repair. Traditional fixes like drilled shafts or soldier piles would have required shutting down overhead transmission lines—an expensive and time-consuming process. But our innovative solution changed the game. Using low-overhead equipment, we installed micropiles and built a Geosynthetically Confined Soil® (GCS®) retaining wall.
