Consul General Moltmann held her annual women's networking lunch with representatives from industry, politics, and culture last week. A special thanks to Sara Irvani from Okabashi Brands, Inc. who presented about innovations in sustainable manufacturing.

A heartfelt Thank You to veterans, all who serve the German American Partnership and Freundschaft, and everyone who attended the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta last week. Particular Dankeschön goes to the Georgia Department of Veterans Service, Commissioner Patricia Ross, Ed.D., the German Consulate General in Atlanta, Consul General Melanie Moltmann, and Oberst Brand all of whom highlighted the nearly 8 decades-long and deep connection between the US and Germany ... starting with the Rosinenbomber (Raisin Bomber). All of us enjoyed hearing about personal experiences from the dreaded German driver's license test to adjusting to German cultural norms and memories of favorite foods. We are excited to kick off Veterans For Freundschaft with meaningful stories, favorite German food, and great fellowship. We are open to ideas for projects, gatherings, and more so that stories, historical context, memories, and relationships continue to deepen the partnership between the two countries. Celebrating 30 Years of #BMW Plant Spartanburg 🚘An awesome celebration today with President & CEO of BMW Manufacturing and GACC South - German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. Board Member Dr. Robert Engelhorn. 📊 Some impressive hard facts: over 11,000 jobs on site (8 million sq. ft.), USD 13.3 bn invested since 1992, over 50% exported to 120 markets, and 1,500 cars assembled daily. 👨👩👦 But what also stands out is seeing some of the 150 team members who've been with BMW from the start, now even working alongside their kids. Plus, the plant's own band, "The Body Shop 5" performed, wrapping up a great evening Melanie Moltmann and I thoroughly enjoyed.
