Check out this clip showing a key stage in oil and gas drilling operations: Run-In-Hole (RIH). This operation involves carefully lowering tools, casing, or tubulars into the wellbore to ensure the well is ready for the next steps—whether it’s logging, cementing, or production. RIH is important because? ✔Ensures proper placement of equipment at the target depth. ✔It ensures the wellbore is prepped for further operations like cementing, logging, or production. ✔Maintains wellbore integrity and minimizes risk. How it’s done: 🔹Drilling crews carefully monitor wellbore conditions, weight, and depth while running equipment in the hole. 🔹Advanced technologies like real-time telemetry systems are often used to track and control the process. RIH might sound simple, but it’s a delicate balance of engineering, precision, and safety! 🚀 So next time you hear about a drilling rig in action, remember: getting tools to the right spot is just as critical as drilling the hole itself. 📹©petroleum.eng_education #OilAndGas #DrillingOperations #WellIntegrity #EnergyIndustry

#ThrowbackThursday 🚢✨ Did you know November 23, 2024, marks 77 years since the world’s first LPG ship set sail?🤔🤔 The Natalie O. Warren, the first U.S. seagoing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) ship, embarked on its maiden voyage on November 23, 1947. Operated by the Warren Petroleum Corporation of Tulsa, Oklahoma, it traveled from the Houston Ship Channel to Newark, New Jersey, carrying 38,053 barrels of LPG in 68 vertical pressure tanks. Originally a dry-cargo freighter (Cape Diamond), the ship was converted at the Bethlehem Steelyard in Beaumont, Texas. This experimental vessel paved the way for innovative maritime construction standards in LPG transport. Fast forward to today: 📌LPG tankers now carry 20x the capacity of the Natalie O. Warren. 📌Over 2,200 LPG vessels now operate globally, and they play a critical role in meeting worldwide LPG demand. 📌In 2023, global LPG production reached 341.31 million metric tons, with consumption closely matching this figure. By 2032, production is expected to hit 387.14 million metric tons as demand continues to grow. #maritimehistory #LPG #energyinnovation #fuelingthefuture #oilandgas

Welcome to Brazil FPSO Almirante Tamandaré- Brazil's largest FPSO! Following a nearly 3-month long voyage from CMHI shipyard in China, SBM Offshore FPSO Almirante Tamandaré has safely arrived in Brazil. Built with the capacity to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million cubic meters of gas per day, Almirante Tamandaré departed from the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) shipyard in China on July 31st and completed its journey to Brazil on Friday, October 25th. The FPSO will be installed in the Búzios Field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, and will be the first high-capacity unit installed in the Búzios Field, within the pre-salt region of the Santos Basin as well as largest FPSO to operate in Brazilian waters The vessel will join the other five platforms operating in the field: FPSOs P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, and MODEC FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32. #FlashbackFriday: This was the newly built Petrobras P-71 FPSO sail away from Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA’s) shipyard to the ultra-deepwater Itapu pre-salt field in the Santos basin of Brazil back in October 2022 Recall that the P-71 was completed by Sembcorp Marine Ltd through Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz shipyard in Brazil. The FPSO hull arrived from Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard in China to Brazil back in March 2020 and was originally designed for the Tupi field, it then underwent modifications and integration at EJA for deployment at the Itapu field after Petrobras decided to focus on deep and ultra-deep waters. P-71 is the sixth and last of the series of replicant platforms operated by Petrobras which is composed of the P-66, P-67, and P-69 FPSOs producing in the Tupi field, the P-68 FPSO on stream in the Berbigao-Sururu field and the P-70 FPSO in operation at the Atapu field The vessel - the only FPSO producing from the Itapu field - has a production capacity of 150 thousand barrels of oil/day, 6 million cubic metres per day of natural gas, and storage of 234 million liters. the vessel is moored in water depths of 2010m. ❓ Do you remember when P-71 achieved its first oil? What month and year was it? We’d also love to hear your stories and experiences if you’ve ever worked aboard this FPSO—whether during construction or now that it’s producing. Do share in the comments! #oiljobs #oilandgas #offshorejobs #deepwater #oilandgasindustry

#MilestoneMoment: A huge congratulations to the FPSO Maria Quitéria crew on the achievement of your first oil milestone!👏 Earlier this week Tuesday 15th, October FPSO Maria Quitéria, built by Malaysian FPSO supplier Yinson achieved its first production from the Petrobras Jubarte field in Campos Basin offshore Brazil. The FPSO, which started operations ahead of schedule, - (start of production was initially scheduled for 2025) - is 156m high and 333m long, and It's installed in a water depth of 1,385m at Jubarte field as part of Parque das Baleias Integrated Project. The Parque das Baleias area is formed by the Jubarte, Baleia Anã, Cachalote, Caxaréu, Pirambú and Mangangá fields. Jubarte, the first filed, was discovered in 2001. In 2019, Petrobras and the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) signed an extension agreement for the concession term of the new unified Jubarte field until 2056, which allowed the FPSO Maria Quitéria to be implemented, a new production system for the Parque das Baleias Integrated Project, in addition to other complementary projects in the area. Three other platforms are currently in operation at Parque das Baleias - P-57, P-58, and FPSO Cidade de Anchieta. With the operational startup of Maria Quitéria, FPSO Maria Quitéria will account for approximately 40% of the field's production when it is completed. The FPSO has the capacity to produce up to 100,000 b/d of oil and process up to 5 million cu m/day of gas. The project will have eight producing wells and eight injectors. #oilandgas #oiljobs #fpso
