The EDC is lucky to have Kevin as part of the business development team! He has been part of the Grand Forks region for most of his life. His impact can be felt in businesses we frequent. Thanks, Kevin, for being part of the team and serving the Grand Forks region to make it the best it can be!
The Bully Brew Coffee in East Grand Forks will always be a special place for me. It was the start of my professional journey! I worked over at River Cinema for several years throughout high school and college growing into an assistant manager role. The owner of the theater, Bob Moore, called me into his office. “I’m gonna buy the building on the corner and make it a coffee shop. Do you want to run it?” I told Bob I didn’t drink coffee at the time but I’ll get started! So with the owners of River Cinema, my dad and I worked together renovating the place. Sandi Luck walked in one day, loved it, and said “I have to be a part of this.” She started by providing the coffee beans and taught me the ropes. Fast forward to today and Bully Brew runs it and is rocking this place. Coffee was not my career but I drink it now and know where to find a good cup! I learned a lot during this stage of my life. Main thing was to put yourself in uncomfortable/unfamiliar situations. That way, whether you succeed or fail…you learn and develop for the future.

Over the last couple of months, EDC Business Development Manager Kevin Hatcher has been visiting local lending institutions to share information about the wide variety of business support programs available to primary sector businesses! 👇
We’ve been going around the Grand Forks region’s lending institutions for the past couple of months! Tyson Zeltinger and Bank of North Dakota are outstanding partners of ours who are joining the visits. We want to get the message out about all of our state and local programmatic opportunities for primary sector businesses. Most importantly, building strong relationships with our regional banks is key to economic development. Both Ty and I wanted to express appreciation for our lending partnerships and share we are open whenever for a call or visit. Shout out to Ty for joining me on these visits. And thank you Derek Holt and First Community Credit Union for the visit and enjoyable conversation yesterday. I stand corrected on the outcome of that impressive UND and Alabama basketball game!
