In our lab, we're advancing stem cell and marrow transplant therapies through cell therapy, cryopreservation, and gene research. By combining human blood samples with cutting-edge machines, we refine the conditions for successful treatments. We collaborate with other scientists to improve procedures and conduct experiments that drive breakthroughs in medical science. Our work is supported by Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs), which create sterile environments to protect both researchers and sensitive samples, ensuring contamination-free conditions for precise, safe research. We’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries of cellular medicine to improve patient outcomes! #TechTuesday #StemCells #MarrowTransplant #GeneResearch #CellTherapy #MedicalAdvancements #FutureOfMedicine #MedicalResearch #CellProcessing #Cryopreservation

It’s #TriviaTuesday! 🌟 Did you know Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are defined by three primary criteria? 1️⃣ Adherence to plastic 2️⃣ Specific surface antigen expression 3️⃣ Multiple differentiation potentials (osteoblasts, adipocytes, chondroblasts) The goal of our MSC experiments is to expand Mesenchymal Stem Cell populations under controlled conditions. Since MSCs are plastic adherent, they can be grown on plates to increase their numbers, making them more practical for research and clinical use. Relying on donor cells would be inefficient and risky, and expanding MSCs in this way provides a more sustainable solution. #StemCellScience #MSCs #RegenerativeMedicine #CellTherapy #MedicalAdvancements #MedicalBreakthroughs #MedicalResearch #CellProcessing #Cryopreservation

The future of cell therapy relies on consistent, high-quality starting materials. Our expert staff understands the growing need for this. By collecting, isolating, and cryopreserving cells on the same day and at the same location, we shorten processing time and eliminate logistical risks. Collection and processing under one roof enhance the consistency and quality by reducing variability in cell collection, handling, and quality management. 🔗 Click the link in our bio to learn more. #TransformativeThursday #TeamInsight #FuturePerspectives #CellTherapy #MedicalAdvancements #FutureOfMedicine #CellProcessing #Cryopreservation

A: The main issue is the 6–8-week procurement time required to collect stem cells from a suitable donor, during which many patients may experience a deterioration in their condition. Expanding hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells (HSC/HPC) in ex vivo using small molecules can help by allowing a single donor's cells to be expanded and stored in a BioBank, making them immediately available for transplant and reducing the waiting time for patients. 🔗 Learn more by clicking the link in our bio. It's #TechTuesday and we're featuring the Sysmex XN-1000R Hematology Analyzer. It's a compact, standalone benchtop instrument that can deliver results of 100 samples per hour using innovative fluorescent flow cytometry and other advanced technologies to deliver a highly comprehensive Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Differential. The XN-1000R counts and sizes red blood cells and platelets using electronic resistance detection. Hematocrit is measured as a ratio of the total RBC volume to whole blood using cumulative pulse height detection. Hemoglobin is converted to SLS-hemoglobin and read photometrically. The white blood cell count, differential, reticulocytes, and nucleated red blood cells are all evaluated using flow cytometry with a semiconductor laser exploiting the differences in cell size, complexity, and RNA/DNA content. In our #CellTherapyLab, it’s used to evaluate the safety of our donors throughout collection day at our Adelson Collection Center and streamlines the workflow of the #FlowCytometryLab.

It’s #TeamInsightThursday! Our experts are here to share key insights into the materials and methods behind the research on In Vitro Expansion of Mobilized Peripheral Blood Stem Cells. Don’t miss out on these cutting-edge discoveries! 1️⃣ Using the Miltenyi CliniMACS Prodigy, CD34+ Cells are isolated from MPB and cryopreserved. 2️⃣ CD34+ cells are cultured for 8 days in the presence of a combination of cytokines with or without small molecules at different concentrations. Independent variables include molecule concentrations and supplementation timepoints. 3️⃣ Flow cytometry is performed using a Beckman Coulter CytoFlex on harvested cells to identify viable cells with the long-term hematopoietic stem cell phenotype of CD45+/CD34+/CD38-/CD90+. #CellTherapy #MedicalAdvancements #FutureOfMedicine #MedicalResearch #CellProcessing #Cryopreservation
