🎉 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐧! 🎉 Beyond instilling leadership values, we made sure to squeeze in some moments of pure, unfiltered joy! From spontaneous dance breaks to shared laughs over inside jokes, these moments remind us that building future leaders doesn’t mean leaving fun behind. It’s in these lighter moments that we see their personalities shine brightest — bold, creative, and unapologetically them. Because at the heart of all the ambition and hard work is this simple truth: Girls just wanna have fun! 💃✨ A heartfelt thank you to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Skills Centre Cape Town for being the space where the girls could learn, grow, and express themselves freely. Special thanks to our Teen President, Ashley Sello, and the coaches at Girls in Robotics Tenacious Mthembu Bennitha Luaba Emma Mphahlele Samantha Salimu for organizing and coordinating such a successful TechGirls application workshop session. ✨ 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔... 𝑭𝑬𝑬𝑫𝑩𝑨𝑪𝑲! ✨ We truly believe that for us to keep improving, it’s not only the organizers’ and team’s input and feedback that counts — it’s hearing directly from those who matter most: the girls themselves. Their voices guide us, challenge us, and inspire us to do better every single time. But it doesn’t stop there. These feedback moments are also opportunities to coach the girls on how to embrace constructive criticism and use it to grow. In the spaces they aspire to lead, feedback isn’t just a tool; it’s a catalyst for innovation and leadership. 𝙁𝒆𝙚𝒅𝙗𝒂𝙘𝒌 𝒇𝙪𝒆𝙡𝒔 𝒑𝙧𝒐𝙜𝒓𝙚𝒔𝙨. 🧑⚖️𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀💪 One of the things we look forward to is having the girls reflect on the session’s content from their perspective and understanding. At our recent TechGirls Application support workshop, one of our young leaders reflected on how critical it is to stand tall in your values, express your ideas boldly, and communicate with confidence. This heartfelt insight sparked an inspiring conversation about what it truly takes to lead authentically while staying true to yourself. Seeing these young minds embrace their potential and grow into powerful leaders fills us with pride. 🌟 🎥 Listen to the incredible wisdom shared by one of our future change-makers! 👇 Let’s keep creating opportunities for these young innovators to shine! #TechGirls #GirlsInRobotics #STEM #Leadership Omar SIDIKOU Samantha Salimu Emma Mphahlele Natasha Chinyemba Tenacious Mthembu Bennitha Luaba Ashley Sello Jeany Sello Amazon Web Services (AWS) AWS Training & Certification Makanaka Chitauro Esther Aziankou Esther Oluwadayomi Ruvarashe Hwata Jayden Mtambalika

🌟 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 🌟 The thing about programs like TechGirls and our own Girls in Robotics Africa is this: they don’t just nurture talent—they create leaders who are ready to impact and pave the way for others. This past Saturday was a testament to this fact. Our Teen President, Ashley Sello, who had the privilege of attending the Tech Girls program earlier this year, took the reins and led an incredible workshop. Her mission? To empower and encourage other girls to apply for the prestigious program. From sharing her transformative 3-week journey to offering practical tips on applications and leadership, Ashley gave it her all. Here are some gems from her talk: 💡 "𝐵𝑒 𝑎𝑢𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦." 🤝 "𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠." 💪 "𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑘𝑒𝑦!" 🗣️ "𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠." Ashley’s energy and perspective left the room buzzing with ideas and excitement. Her words remind us why we create platforms for young leaders: they inspire us just as much as we inspire them. A heartfelt thank you to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Skills Centre Cape Town for offering an incredible space to inspire and empower the leaders of tomorrow! Together, we can ensure these young innovators arrive ready to compete and thrive! 🚀 #TeenLeaders #GirlsInRobotics #STEM #Ubuntu #techgirls Emma Mphahlele Samantha Salimu Bennitha Luaba Tenacious Mthembu Omar SIDIKOU Linet Kamotho Jeany Sello Makanaka Chitauro Ruvarashe Hwata Esther Oluwadayomi Esther Aziankou United Nations United Nations Youth Office

🌟 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗪𝗦 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲! 🌟 Our Girls in Robotics often ask us, "𝐶𝑜𝑎𝑐ℎ, 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑓 𝐼 𝑡𝑟𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦?" We tell them, "𝐺𝘰 𝘢𝑠 ℎ𝘢𝑟𝘥 𝘢𝑠 𝑦𝘰𝑢 𝑐𝘢𝑛, 𝘢𝑛𝘥 𝘺𝑜𝘶'𝘭𝑙 𝑔𝘰 𝘢𝑠 𝑓𝘢𝑟 𝑎𝘴 𝘺𝑜𝘶 𝘸𝑎𝘯𝑡!" Equally so, we go as hard as we can to support them because we know they are destined for great things. This past Saturday, we had the incredible opportunity to run a @Tech Girls Workshop at the state-of-the-art Amazon Web Services (AWS) Skills Centre in Cape Town. The workshop focused on equipping young girls in robotics with the skills and confidence needed to apply for the prestigious TechGirls Program. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: The program aims to empower young innovators from underserved communities, helping them break into STEM fields and inspire change in their communities. Our Girls in Robotics leaders embody these qualities and have such drive for change. 🏢 𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗪𝗦! The welcoming team and the inspiring, spacious facilities created the perfect environment to spark curiosity and growth. 📢 𝙎𝙃𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙐𝘽𝙐𝙉𝙏𝙐... "If learning is not fun, we don't want it" It's our responsibility as facilitators of knowledge to ensure that we meet our learners where they are, and to make learning STEM enjoyable for them. It's a valuable skill for those privileged to nurture the growing minds of adolescence. It requires continuous learning. 🌟 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗱, 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀! 🚀 As the boot camp comes to an end, it marks a significant milestone for our incredible Girls in Robotics participants! Over the past two weeks, young talents from Langa, Khayelitsha, Sinenjongo, and Dunoon have brought their passion, creativity, and determination to every session of the boot camp. We are super proud of what they've accomplished and are excited to see how they continue to grow. Through hands-on learning, teamwork, and problem-solving, these young minds have gained valuable skills and experiences that will serve them well in their education and future careers. A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches at African Youth Ignited 4IR (PBO) and the amazing staff at American Corner Cape Town for their unwavering support and mentorship. 🌟 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 🌟 At our Girls in Robotics Africa, we believe that true learning happens when young minds feel safe, supported, and free to express themselves. Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space, showed us that science and creativity go hand-in-hand. She embraced her love for dance just as much as her passion for science, proving that we don't have to choose between our interests—that all of our passions can contribute to our journey. 🩰🚀 That's why for this boot camp, we've made it our mission to make sure that each girl understood that STEM isn't just about technology—it's about creativity, collaboration, and the joy of discovery. Therefore, we strived to foster a culture of openness and encouragement, because we're nurturing not just future engineers and scientists, but also confident, resilient young leaders who aren't afraid to dream big! To all our boot camp participants: Keep expressing yourselves, keep learning, and most importantly—keep having fun! 🚀💡 #GirlsInSTEM #SafeSpaces #Empowerment #RoboticsBootcamp #LearningThroughFun #FutureLeaders #STEMEducation #GirlsInRobotics African Youth Ignited 4IR (PBO)
