Today is Giving Tuesday! Please consider donating to Girls in the Game to help support our Teen Squad program! Teen Squad participants have their sights set high, and there’s nothing they can’t achieve! We asked them to describe their goals for the future, and here’s what some of them said: ⭐️ “I want to graduate with multiple acceptances to schools, scholarships, and work opportunities.” -Laila ⭐️ “Once I graduate I plan to attend a HBCU where I will major in criminology to become an forensic scientist.” -Porsch’ay ⭐️ “My dreams are to make my parents proud and be successful.” -Clarissa Help give these girls the opportunity to reach their goals and thrive after high school by donating today! About us
Mission: At Girls in the Game every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength and leads with confidence through fun and active sports, health and leadership programs. Vision: Girls in the Game empowers all girls to be gamechangers. About us: Since 1995, Girls in the Game, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, has emerged as a leading girls' health and fitness organization in Chicago. Every year, Girls in the Game empowers more than 3,000 girls to make healthier choices and develop the confidence and leadership skills they need to succeed on and off the field. From yoga and lacrosse to soccer and dance, Girls in the Game exposes girls to a wide and energizing mix of sports and fitness activities year round. Girls are encouraged to get in the game —any game—so they can learn teamwork and determination, and to make choices that lead to a happier, healthier life. All sports and fitness programming includes hands-on workshops on nutrition, health and leadership.

It’s a busy time for Girls in the Game! After School Programming is starting back up again, and we just hosted our first Regional Clinic of the school year! We had so much fun playing soccer and ultimate frisbee as well as talking about self-identity and personal safety! Chicago Professional Women for Good stopped by to present a check, and we were also joined by a volunteer group from KPMG. We are so grateful to both of these groups, as well as our coaches and participants for coming out! We have many exciting events coming up, such as the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 13th! Our marathon team of 30 runners has been working tirelessly to prepare for the big day, and we are so excited to cheer them on! Stay tuned for more updates, and make sure to follow our Instagram as well, @girlsinthegame! #GirlsInTheGame #StrongStartsHere #WomenInSports #EmpowerGirls #AllInForGirls

We are a 2024 Sports 4 Life grant recipient! The Women's Sports Foundation Sports 4 Life program is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and we could not be more excited to be a part of this special class of grantees. This national initiative – co-founded by WSF and ESPN in 2014 and supported by Gatorade bolt – utilizes the power of sport to build a solid foundation for Black, African-American, Hispanic and Native American girls to thrive on and off the field of play. We are grateful for their support to continue our work! #KeepPlaying #Sports4Life #WSF50 #GirlsintheGame #DeterminedNation #Chicago

Kathleen Noble is the first Ugandan Rowing Olympian! Paving the way for Uganda, her motivation is “the pursuit of excellence and the desire to grow as an athlete and as a person. There is a deep satisfaction that comes from mastering a skill. Though the perfect rowing stroke still alludes me, it is gratifying to find myself edging ever closer towards that goal. Training for the Olympics, I have the opportunity regularly to push myself to my limit physically and mentally and I believe I become stronger, more resilient and more courageous because of it. I am also motivated by the idea that what I am doing now will someday provide life enriching opportunities for other Ugandan athletes” #Girlsinthegame #Paris2024 #DeterminedNation #Olympics #Uganda
