Gizmo's continued relationship with Blessing Hancock and Skyrim studios has gotten us mention in the December 2024 issue of the American Institute of Steel's magazine Modern Steel Construction for our design and fabrication of "Loqui", completed this year for The Fairgrounds in Nashville Tenn. Gizmo is currently fabricating a Topographical Map for the new Environmental Education Center in South Mountain Park, City of Phoenix, AZ. The Map itself will be carved out by our 5-axis DMS router and once in the educational center, it will sit beneath a projector and within a metal railing. This element within the center will give visitors a close look at how the local landscape has changed over time as they can operate the projector above by using screens installed on the railing. We are so looking forward to installing this piece and we're excited for the public to enjoy and learn from the interactive topo map!

📣 SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, September 12. 📣 🥳 Join Metro Arts on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:00 p.m. during the annual Nashville fair at Nashville Fairgrounds for the dedication of “Loqui”, the city’s newest large-scale sculpture by artist Blessing Hancock. ✨️“Loqui”, (to speak in latin) stands 32’ tall with an exterior of stainless-steel panels that depict the voices of Nashville. Hancock completed a series of community engagements while also enlisting local artist Miriam Speyer, to help capture the thoughts and emotions of Nashville’s community by prompting such questions as, “What makes Nashville your home?” and “What is your hope for the future?” This captivating artwork holds 415 phrases, 4,417 words and 22,020 characters that also illuminates in the evening, providing a striking nighttime presence. 🎉 Come celebrate with us on this momentous occasion! We are thrilled to announce that as of last week, Gizmo has completed the installation of a 2000 sq/ft long original painting by the great Don Ed Hardy within Grace Cathedral. On Saturday morning, Gizmo was honored alongside the artists, authors and musicians in attendance of the opening of "2000 Dragons". This piece will remain at Grace Cathedral until the end of May, honoring the duration of AAPI month and the year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac. What makes this project so special for us is that in 2001 our founder Mark Sabatino conducted a one man installation of this same piece in a church in Cuenca, Ecuador. 23 years ago Mark established and has maintained a long standing working relationship with Don Ed Hardy and we are thrilled to see this piece again. We thank our partners at Grace and the Hardy family for this opportunity.
