We are excited to do our part in the restoration of these historic buildings in Windsor, CO. We are also excited to work on another project with the great team over at Taylor Kohrs.
Taylor Kohrs is working on the rehabilitation of two historical landmarks for the Town of Windsor Colorado! Eaton House was built in 1903 by Benjamin Eaton (Colorado’s 4th governor). Mr. Eaton was an irrigation pioneer and constructed the Eaton house as workforce housing for vital irrigation employees to stay. Once renovations are complete, the Eaton House will become a classroom, community gathering place, and visitors center where the community can learn about and celebrate the history of the Town of Windsor. Dickey Farmhouse was built in 1905 by the Dickeys, a prominent Windsor family who operated one of the largest farms in the area. On the property is the oldest structure in Windsor, known as Halfway House. This house was built in 1873 and earned its name by being halfway between Greeley and Laporte along the Overland Trail. Once finished, the site will become a designated agricultural heritage site where visitors can look back in time and appreciate the historical and cultural significance. These historical landmarks will be completed using as much of the original materials as possible to preserve the structures architectural design and integrity. Thank you, Town of Windsor, for trusting us with the restoration of these houses. We know they are the fabric of your community, and we are honored to be a part of it! #ColoradoHistory #Restoration #CulturalConstruction
