GFC Update!
About us
OUR MISSION: Global Focus on Cancer’s (GFC) mission is to raise awareness, provide support and create a global network of communication for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and medical professional around the world. Our goal is to increase awareness, decrease stigma and encourage early detection and treatment by increasing access to information about cancer. Awareness is an integral component in the early detection of the disease and early detection is a key element in the battle against cancer. WHAT WE DO: GFC was formed in 2011 as a US based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to acts as an agent of simple and effective change to help reduce the global burden of cancer. We do this through creating, implementing and sustaining cancer awareness programs and cancer support groups in countries where access to information about cancer is critically lacking. HOW WE WORK: GFC partners with local organizations to connect them with established global cancer resources. We translate existing cancer awareness materials and create new brochures/pamphlets in the local language to promote cancer awareness, early detection and treatment options. We utilize our relationships with doctors, hospitals, cancer organizations and US companies with international offices to create and distribute country specific literature and to host cancer awareness seminars. We assist in creating new, and expanding upon existing cancer support groups using established, successful models and adapting them to fit the individual country. GFC has developed a dual track approach in each target country that consists of: Cancer support groups in hospitals and other health care facilities Cancer awareness programs delivered in the work environment

This Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting you to join us in making a lasting impact on cancer care worldwide. At Global Focus on Cancer (GFC), we work tirelessly to bridge gaps in cancer care, empowering patients, families, and communities. Over the past years, your support has helped us: Reach over 10,000 individuals impacted by cancer through education, advocacy, and support programs. Form over 100 partnerships to strengthen cancer care delivery across the globe. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative, community-driven solutions that address the unique challenges of cancer care in low-resource settings. We’ve attached a brief update highlighting our work and impact over the past 18 months. We hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us. But there’s more work to do. Every day, people face overwhelming challenges accessing the care, resources, and support they need. This Giving Tuesday, your gift can help us: Expand programs to reach more underserved communities. Provide critical training and resources for healthcare providers and advocates. Build sustainable solutions to improve access to care. Your generosity fuels everything we do. Together, we can transform the cancer care landscape and bring hope to those who need it most. Thank you for standing with us in this journey to ensure equitable, compassionate care for all. ocusoncancer.org/donate/

GFC is thrilled to partner with City Cancer Challenge on this vital work!
📣 BIG NEWS! Together with our enabling partners Amgen, Global Focus on Cancer (US charitable organisation supported by donations from Eli Lilly and Company), MSD, Roche, Siemens Healthineers and others, this morning on the #CGI2024 Clinton Global Initiative world stage, C/Can proudly launched a bold, new 7-year, $10M initiative to help address the widening #CancerCare gap among women living in resource-limited settings in low- and middle-income countries. Because neither where a person lives, nor their gender, should impact the quality of the care they receive. 🙌 Developed in response to findings of the Women, power, and cancer: The Lancet Commission and informed by our Advisory Board of women in these countries, this new strategy uses our proven city model to shape interventions that meet the unique needs of local populations, while centring #GenderEquity.
