🚨NOVEMBER MILESTONE UPDATE This month, we've successfully onboarded our first two customers to the new Go Fig data management and analytics platform! By the numbers: #️⃣ over 20,000 rows of data have been sourced from 6 different software, and syncing new data every day 🧹 6 No-Code ETL Workflows were created to clean data after every daily sync 💡 2 Analyses were performed to deep dive pressing business challenges 🔄 4 Automated Dashboards were created to monitor performance on an ongoing basis It is validating to see the mouths of these first clients open up in awe realizing the time and painstaking effort they are now able to save to track their business in one place. What's next-- we're working with these clients to make Go Fig dashboards a core component of managing SOPs (standard operating procedures) as they will allow managers to monitor adherence of their staff to day-to-day operations and respond quickly and efficiently to issues before they bubble up. This has been an exciting week for me and our team, and we're riding on the backs of this momentum to do more in December. Onward!

When enabled "with the right data tools", frontline employees can solve big problems for companies at a faster velocity. Most other data tools on the market are catered to technical data teams, and leave out everyone else. We're different.
I have a recurring monthly meeting with frontline customer support agents. This week, I was asked for help to assist in their effort to build a Looker dashboard to summarize key metrics by inquiry category to help the team better understand customer needs and assess their ability to service them. I always accept the opportunity to help out. Because in my career, I have come to understand that people on the frontlines like these CS agents see a lot of problems that I don't see in the back office. I learn something new every month-- customers' problems, pain points and needs that were obvious to the team members that interact directly with our customers day-in and day-out. I attribute a lot of my organization's success to strategic priorities that I was able to influence by surfacing insights from these meetings to the leadership team. My mission recently has been to enable this team with the right data tools and decision-making ability, so that our organization can increase the velocity by which we solve big problems for our customers. I believe empowering frontline employees is a win-win-win: higher employee retention, improved customer experience outcomes, and stronger growth impact.

We love being a part of the Greenville startup community. There are so many brilliant entrepreneurs with exciting ventures that make this city as vibrant as it is!
Still smiling about last week's SUDsGVL. ☺️ It was fun hanging out with the #StartupGVL community and tabbi.app at Larkins! Thanks to them both for helping organize the event. There will be more in 2025!

"I’m not a lawyer," I said nervously. My attorney smiled and reassured me, “You’re not supposed to be. That’s my job. I’ll guide you through the process and take care of what you're not expected to know.” That moment stuck with me—not just because he was able to resolve my legal issue but because of the way that statement addressed and extinguished my fears of complex legal jargon and documents. I didn't have to learn how to be my own lawyer that day-- instead I could go back to focusing on the work I was good at. Go Fig was created to provide that same reassurance for leaders in need of insights to make the right decisions to move their companies forward. If you’ve ever been overwhelmed by spreadsheets, metrics, or the idea of hiring a full-time data analyst to make sense of it all, I get it. You're not expected to get an undergraduate in data modeling or SQL just to make smart business decisions. With Go Fig, you don’t need to be a data analyst to: 🔍 Find actionable insights in your business data 📊 Track the KPIs that matter most 🧠 Get answers to questions like "Why are sales down this quarter?" We take care of the technical heavy lifting, just like that lawyer did for me, so you can get back to solving big problems. If you’re curious how Go Fig can help, let’s connect or drop a comment below. You don't have to be your own analyst—that’s what we’re here for!

What sets Go Fig apart from other data tools like PowerBI and Tableau? We were asked this during our pitch to investors Flywheel Coworking yesterday. Here was my answer: What sets high growth companies apart is the ability to empower their frontline employees to solve problems they face in day-to-day operations. Go Fig is the most intuitive analytics tool, built for the non-analyst user from the C-suite down to the frontline employee--empowering them to get the necessary information to solve big problems. Go Fig makes data insights accessible, without the steep learning curve required to be an analyst. What could you accomplish in your company if you could be your own analyst?

We're feeling a lot of feels today. Pride. Honor. Gratitude. Yet also extremely humbled. We've come so far, yet it feels like we're just starting and preparing for takeoff. Let's Go Launch!
I had such a great time last night at the annual InnoVision Awards ceremony. While Go Fig ended as a runner up, there was so much to be proud of, and I spent many hours late last night processing all the feels. 1. First and foremost, I am proud of what we've done in such a short amount of time and am honored that we were considered a finalist amongst so many other exciting SC-based tech companies. 2. There is still lots to do. The ceiling is truly limitless, and we are laying the groundwork to achieve our fullest potential. 3. Last night I was surrounded by mentors across the Greenville startup ecosystem who came out to support me and cheer us on. Some people warned entrepreneurship would be a lonely journey, but I have never once felt that. I am so grateful to this community of amazing people: Thank you Bryan Davis from The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University, Clay Johnson, M.B.A. from SCRA: South Carolina Research Authority, Eric Weissmann with NextGEN, Johannes Mutzke with The Platform at Greer, and of course Hunter Freeman with Kim, Lahey & Killough Law Firm. 4. There was a surprise last night as well-- Stewart Spinks was awarded the Charles Townes lifetime achievement award. I thought a lot about what it means to build and grow a business to spur economic development in this city for over 50 years-- to give employment, mentor future leaders, and be on the leading edge of innovation in the local economy. When I envision myself in 50 years, I hope to accomplish in Greenville what the Spinks family has. Here's to more work and innovation for South Carolina 🥂

This is precisely what we're solving for with Go Fig. The weight of this challenge in both the complexity and value to Midmarket and Enterprises is huge. And this is coming from personal experience working in the most talented teams handling enterprise data within Fortune 500!

We got self-driving cars before we got AI that could handle enterprise data. And it’s a massive blindspot in Silicon Valley. We're talking about the pain of wrestling: - Client information scattered across systems - Contracts buried in different formats - Invoices with unstructured fields - Files that look like ‘FinalAIPreso_v3_v2final_THISONE’ - Maintenance checklists in 12 different places *shudders* Yet when I talk to enterprises, converting it into structured data is one of the top things they need. Anyone working on this?

Garbage in, garbage out! If your data is a mess, your insights can be misleading. Making decisions based on bad data can be costly. A recent study from Gartner found the average cost of lacking quality data to be up to $15M per year. Data cleaning is the process of ensuring quality and accuracy so that the numbers tell you the right story. $15 million.. 💰 That's the average annual financial cost Mid-market companies incur by not having access to high quality data, according to a study performed by Gartner. That's because data is more than just the numbers -- it’s the story behind the data that reveals what’s working and what’s not when you're not around to witness it firsthand. It allows leaders to make decisions based on facts. 📖 I've talked to several companies with an annual revenue in the range of $10M - $100M, and many of them still don't have a robust data infrastructure. Instead they hire consultants and fractional CFO's to dig into the numbers manually. But external advisors still need better access to data to support these companies be fact-driven. Others don't look at their data at all. They're all about making decisions based on good vibes, but that does not usually end well. The average cost to build and maintain a robust data infrastructure is $500,000. While that's a huge investment to make, it's a fraction of the financial cost of leading without data in today's modern economy. I'll flip the question around and instead ask: "can a midmarket company really afford to not invest in a robust data infrastructure?" For the nerds out there, I broke down the components of data infrastructure and provided real-life examples of costs for companies of different sizes: https://loom.ly/2yG6_PE #datainfrastructure #investment #business #midmarket #businessconsultant
