Public benefits are crucial and chaotic — too many forms, too much hassle. Residents are stuck in a data-entry loop, caseworkers are swamped, and no one’s happy. The GoInvo design team envisioned an integrated benefit application, where people can apply for all benefits at once, get helpful service suggestions, and have their benefits automatically renewed in a single stroke. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is inching closer and closer to an eligibility engine, much like the systems in Estonia that have been working well over the last decade. Here's what we're thinking when it comes to designing an eligibility engine: https://lnkd.in/e_ZgWuRn

What’s a little #healthcare fraud between friends? Just a casual $400 billion—that’s 10% of healthcare’s GDP. And don’t forget, there’s an extra 20% wasted for good measure. The dirty details at our #opensource visual report: https://lnkd.in/euJXV4jJ Two ways to fight fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) = 1) Health Accuracy Receipt... that uses the patient as the fraud detection system and 2) FWA Tracker... a real-time fraud, waste, and abuse detection service which collects data from numerous sources, such as the Health Accuracy Receipt.

Had an amazing time at this week's #DesignForDignity conference! Thanks to Amy Heymans and Chris McCarthy for organizing a fantastic event. Thanks to the inspiring presenters who left me with lots to think about and kicked off what will (hopefully be!) many ongoing conversations: Juhan Sonin Stephen Konya Claudia Williams Alexandra Schweitzer Elizabeth Markle Joe Williams (I wish I'd gotten to see them all!). Thanks to Lindsey Mosby for a fantastic workshop on Aging in All the Best Ways. So glad I met María De la Vega and Alexandra Schweitzer who's work is not to be missed, and definitely sparked my creativity! Great to connect with friends like Lisa deBettencourt, MS HFID and Scott Mackie and get to enjoy Massachusetts College of Art and Design's fantastic facilities. It was a pleasure to be part of such an inspiring event that wrapped up with so many energizing calls to action!

Goinvo does such good work
"Who uses my health data?" If you thought you knew, think again. Hat tip to Danny Sands, MD, MPH for sharing (and to Dave deBronkart for amplifying) this remarkable graphic created by GoInvo to visualize all of the ways your #healthdata is shared. https://lnkd.in/eSw_4bEp And... * Medical bills are the leading source of bankruptcy in America, while most of the data transactions below have a flow of dollars attached. So while the patient is paying for those medical visits, your data is flowing through a multi-billion dollar revenue machine before you've walked out the door. * And when you are struggling just to gain timely and complete access to your own complete medical record, remember how many others had such easy access to your data.
