When Americans travel to play golf, they are more open-minded. American golfers go to their country club and demand pristine and perfect conditions. Those demands come with costs, chemicals, labor, etc. But when they play an 18-hole link in Scotland upkept by one guy and a lawn mower, they think it’s the greatest place in the world. In Ireland and the UK, many of the conditions are natural and rugged. You accept that the golf ball does what the golf ball does. Why can’t we set the same expectations beyond domestically, too? https://lnkd.in/eDe-sdzJ

Jason’s school system was gifted an old dairy farm, which turned into a living laboratory. His school would go out and do PH testing on the water and learn about the natural environment, which piqued his interest. He started to look for schools that combined his passions and landed on Cornell. While he went to school, he was working as a Greenskeeper at a local golf course. He knew from a young age that he had a passion for environmental golf design. https://lnkd.in/eCCfunnf

We’d build greens in a controlled environment, place fertilizers and different types of chemicals on them, and capture the drainage from underneath them. Why? To learn what worked to grow the grass but also what was environmentally beneficial in terms of management and construction. https://lnkd.in/eCCfunnf

Jason’s clients want carbon net zero (or as close to it as you can get). They want sustainably sourced materials. If their client cares about it, they’ll deliver it. https://lnkd.in/eCCfunnf
