About us
We believe everyone deserves affordable and convenient healthcare. Our mission is to build better ways for people to find the right care at the best price. Our technology gives all Americans — regardless of income or insurance status — the knowledge, choice, and care they need to stay healthy. GoodRx supports all Americans with their healthcare challenges. Since 2011, we’ve helped Americans save over $35 billion on prescriptions via savings cards, our website, and the GoodRx app, which is one of the most downloaded medical apps on both the Google Play and Apple App Store. We’re a customer-first company. That means making sure all our products and features are built around you. This approach guides how we operate, make decisions across our businesses, and work on new ideas for our customers. In 2021, an estimated 46 million U.S. adults were not able to afford needed care. We’re working to narrow this access gap. We have saved Americans over $30 billion on their medications.

Growing up in rural Nigeria, Ruth says, “I’ve seen the difference between pharmacists in the cities in Nigeria and then comparing that to the rural areas where you have no pharmacists at all...this personal experience has been my driving force to bridge healthcare access and quality gaps among patients in rural areas.”2025 scholarship applications will be accepted starting in the spring. When it comes to managing and treating viruses like the flu, the value of real time, credible data can’t be understated. Ongoing changes in the CDC’s communication tools, along with the administration’s order to stop collaborating with the WHO, leave critical gaps in virus surveillance. Hospitals, researchers, and many other healthcare professionals rely on reporting tools, like the CDC FluView tracker, to manage resources—a practice that is even more important during our seasonal “tripledemic” when the flu, COVID-19, and RSV are spiking across the country. While the future of these national resources remains in flux, there is growing confusion around what data is currently available and where people can access it. Though I hope these issues are soon resolved so everyone in our industry can get the information they need to maintain public health, GoodRx Research is providing weekly, live updates of prescription fills for flu, COVID-19, and RSV treatments. Right now, flu cases are spiking and fills for Tamiflu are at the highest level since 2018. Because these fast-spreading viruses are so unpredictable, analyzing these medication trends helps to give healthcare administrators, doctors, nurses, and other frontline workers a real-time pulse on surges. This data is incredibly valuable for tracking which treatments Americans are taking and how treatment patterns compare to prior years or seasons. You can stay up to date on the latest fill data here: https://lnkd.in/eBqYqS68

Dorothy Gemmell, GoodRx’s CCO recently authored a guest post for Drug Channels Institute, an HMP Global Company about 2025 trends, challenges, and opportunities for brands as it relates to patient access and medication affordability. She also touches on the growth in cash pay as patients increasingly become the payer, even when they have insurance. From unfilled prescriptions to compressed margins to inaccessible brand-name drugs, the prescription drug system is under intense pressure to evolve. Couple this with consumers paying more out of pocket and it’s clear that patients paying cash for prescriptions is a trend that may be here to stay.
