GOOD TROUBLE co-founders Jose R. Perez and Julian Spencer, went from struggling in school and experiencing the justice system to now advocating for policy changes at the capital and sitting on a panel with Hennepin County Attorney, Mary Moriarty, and head of Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Liz Ryan. Join us in supporting Fostering Hope, our new initiative for youth who’ve aged out of foster care and are pursuing postsecondary education. Many of these young people face the holiday season without the same support networks others rely on, but together, we can change that. This year, we’re sending gift boxes, including a gift card, college essentials, snacks, and a word of encouragement. Please help us create a sense of belonging for 60 resilient scholars. We’re almost halfway to our $15,000 goal—your support can help us get there and ensure no student feels alone this holiday season. Thanks in advance for your support! Representative John Lewis would have been 84 today. As a student, Rep. Lewis became an activist in the civil rights movement. He organized sit-ins at segregated lunch counters in Nashville and took part in many other civil rights activities as part of the Nashville Student Movement. During this time, Rep. Lewis said it was important to engage in "good trouble, necessary trouble" in order to achieve change, and he held to this credo throughout his life. We hope to continue the legacy.
