Congratulations to Professor Guohui Zhang, University of Hawaii, Hawaii Department of Transportation, Pacific International Center for High Technology Research, and NEC Corporation of America for being one of the winners in the US Dept of Transportation’s Intersection Safety Challenge. Zhang’s project aims to create a safety system for intersections using advanced technologies such as sensors, edge computing, machine learning and wireless communication. The system will focus on preventing crashes between vehicles and pedestrians.
