  • GPA Midstream Statement Regarding Department of Energy Study on LNG Exports "GPA Midstream looks forward to performing a detailed review of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s analysis of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, especially its determinations regarding economic impacts, and providing appropriate comments. Based on our preliminary review, GPA Midstream appreciates that the DOE does not recommend a ban. "We hope there is a recognition of the environmental benefits of LNG exports, as reflected in a recent study by ICF International, a leading science-based climate consultancy that conducts independent research for government agencies and organizations, which showed US LNG exports have lower lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to using coal alone, fuel oil alone, or the expected mix of alternative fuels (summed across all countries importing US LNG) that would most likely replace imported US LNG. "GPA Midstream will continue to engage this administration, as well as the next, to ensure our country has trade policy, energy policy, and national security policy informed by facts to achieve both beneficial climate and economic impacts." • Ever wonder what “electrify everything” really means for your home, your wallet, and the energy running through your devices? Before we commit to a one-size-fits-all approach, it’s worth stepping back to consider what we gain — and what we might give up.   In a new post on the Let's Clear the Air blog, Stuart Saulters of GPA Midstream breaks down what happens when we push all-in on electricity. He takes a look at the trade-offs that matter to real people: - Keeping energy reliable, especially when it’s freezing outside. - Making sure the costs don’t push families to the brink. - And yes, staying focused on cutting emissions, without leaving practicality behind.   Read the full article to get a better feel for what an “all of the above” energy mix could mean for all of us. https://lnkd.in/gexX9869   Want more conversations like this one? • 🌟 Where’s Emma? 🌟   Welcome to the first installment of a fun new feature: “Where’s Emma?” — where we follow Emma Bickel, GPA Midstream’s Manager of Outreach/Member Services, during her travels to GPA Midstream chapter events across the country!   Recently, Emma joined the Rocky Mountain Chapter Regional Conference. With a sold-out exhibit hall, $50,000 in scholarships awarded to ten deserving students, and a happy hour to close things out, the event was a huge success.   “The Rocky Mountain Chapter Regional Conference was a great opportunity to connect with members located in the Rockies as well as meet several new colleagues,” Emma said. “The chapter did an amazing job putting on this event — it was informative, engaging, and ran seamlessly. The success of this event reflects all the hard work and dedication from the GPA Midstream Rocky Mountain Chapter board and their committee members. I look forward to seeing you all at another GPARMC event soon!”   The day was also filled with engaging presentations covering topics like AI-driven freezer engineering, corrosion mitigation, and innovative methods for CO₂ removal, as well as an exciting roundtable discussion.   📍 Where’s Emma off to next? Follow along to find out!
