Our passion is to educate payers and advisors to make informed PBM choices through unbiased data and unmatched expertise

About us

Specializing in unbiased pharmacy data analytics, contract review and consulting for TPA’s, brokers and employer prescription benefit; Granite Peak Analytics, LLC was formed by two individuals tired of seeing employers spend too much on healthcare simply because they weren’t armed with the right questions to ask. What started as a mission across the state of Montana to educate payors on their poor PBM choices and the subsequent impacts to community pharmacies, quickly evolved into a business driven by data, technology, and passion. What we found was astonishing; not only did large payors, health trusts, and employers have absolutely no idea how benefit decisions were impacting their community, but they failed to understand how poorly their pharmacy benefit program was performing for THEM. With over 30 years of combined experience in pharmacy operations, PBM contracting, clinical program management, and health plan design we felt obligated to share our unique insight. We didn’t stop there. We knew it was vitally important to let unbiased data drive our client’s decisions and therefore partnered with a leading clinical and financial analytics engine. By removing all conflicts of interest that are commonplace in today’s PBM market and being 100% transparent with our own fees, we plan to create a longstanding and trusted partnership with our customers. We want our clients to evaluate our fees compared to our value as that’s the only way true accountability in healthcare costs can be achieved.

"Unique talent + unique approach = unique results" -Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin (talking about star TJ Watt) Coach Tomlin made these statements back in October in a presser.... It made me reflect about our Granite Peak Analytics, LLC team. It made me think about all the unique results and success stories for our clients I should be sharing more. So this is your heads up for 2025. I'm going to be uncomfortably bragging about the #results we've delivered for #client partners on a regular basis. It really is uncomfortable for me....but that's a lame excuse. Happy Friday and cheers to the unique talents of Shyla Hadley, Judi Martin, CSFS, Kristi Monson, Cole Whitmoyer and Addy Lawson....AND excited about bringing on another rockstar this January!

  • 5 Years of Granite Peak Analytics, LLC! A huge milestone to hit and an important time to reflect on our journey and be grateful for those who’ve helped us get here and the multitude of lessons learned. This all started with a couple of questions. What if we could arm payors and advisors with independent pharmacy analytics and unmatched self-funding expertise that would guide them in making informed PBM choices? Could we effectively help plans, patients, and communities? Each agreeing to commit $1,500 and a boatload of sweat equity, Mike Matovich and Trevor Daer set out to test the idea. “Granite Peak” was born.  We gained clients by fortifying relationships, transparency in our compensation, and delivering on our promises. We lost clients and learned hard lessons that made us better. We proved that experienced negotiation, financial transparency, and aligned incentives deliver superior results. We've positively impacted over 100,000 patient lives and continuously strive for more. The best part? We are just getting started.  Judi Martin, CSFS Shyla Hadley Addy Lawson

  • Celebrating the Workforce on Labor Day! This Labor Day, we honor the resilience of the American workforce. We are particularly grateful for the frontline workers ensuring that our communities have appropriate healthcare access and the ones fighting in the shadows to execute members’ everyday treatment journeys. Today, we celebrate not only the labor that drives our economy but also the critical role that our clients and partners play in continuing the work to make a positive impact on countless lives. Especially the team working each day toward the Granite Peak Analytics mission: Trevor, Judi, Shyla, Addy.

  • Last up on the GPA GLP-1 Series, Trevor Daer's take! What are the challenges of ensuring GLP-1 use is for Type-2 diabetes and not taken off-label for weight-loss? What solutions exist to manage appropriate utilization? GLP-1’s are creating a unique challenge that requires a holistic view. We not only want to better inform our clients and followers, but provide some solution-based insight as well.

About 10 years ago I asked a #pbm a simple, but pointed question.... "If you are projecting this amount of savings, and didn't manipulate any of the claims to get there, why not guarantee the performance on a Per Member Per Month basis?" At the time, the concept was foreign. Like, "why would we do that when we've offered such amazing (but meaningless) discounts and rebates?" Maybe because it would take all of the funny #money and contract manipulation completely out of the picture and truly focus on SPEND? I'm encouraged today more than ever about the prospect of cost-based evaluations and contracts that align PBM partners with their client's #fiduciary obligations. Many PBMs are leading the way and turning the old model upside down. Companies like WriteWise are both ensuring AND insuring these models succeed. What's changed in the last 10-years? -#Pharmacy costs spiraling out of control -#Disruptors focused on patients not profit (doing what's right, not what's easy) -#Advisors teaching clients how to purchase #healthcare better -#Lawsuits ..... two major ones with J&J and Wells Fargo -#CAA and intense PBM scrutiny at the federal level -#markcuban....someone with a voice and platform to ignite change We still have a long ways to go to completely eliminate prescription overspend but we have a strong and encouraging tailwind with the opportunity to deliver systemic change to a broken system! #pmpm #letsgo #progress
