Did you know the last Thursday in July is National Intern Day? We didn’t, but we had the good fortune of hosting a wonderful group of philanthropy interns for lunch that day. These college students are curious, creative, and committed to using their talents to make our city and world a better place. Einhorn Collaborative, The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation, Maverick Capital Foundation. Interns are an investment in the future and, especially for those of us supporting youth programming, they bring valuable perspective to our work. Special thanks to the Blackstone Charitable Foundation team, whose LaunchPad program makes the experience of hiring and hosting interns so much easier!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of gathering with the Gray NYC Scholars to celebrate class of 2024 college graduates, welcome incoming scholars in the class of 2028, and build community with students, families and partners. Congratulations to all of our inspiring scholars! Special shout-out to our powerhouse panelists --Ryan Afreen, Jaden Brown, Ramat Olasunkanmi, Alondra Oliveras-- who shared their experiences and sage advice. And thanks to our partners in this program -- UNCF, 11 colleges, and 29 college access schools and organizations.

We are proud to support this collaboration between Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust and NYC Public Schools.
Mindy and I are honored to help launch this program bringing up to 85,000 NYC 8th graders to the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. The lessons of this center are vital today. It reminds us of where hate can lead, and the enormous difference individuals make when they find the courage to act in our darkest moments. https://nyti.ms/3Kfsbrh

Attention teens (and people who live and work with teens): Didn’t make it to The Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May? The real fun is the last Friday in May, when Teens Take the Met. We are so proud to support Amir as he pursues his dreams. He did an outstanding job representing the Gray NYC Scholars and our partnership with UNCF. #UNCF80 #HBCU
Greetings My LinkedIn Family, This past week, I was graced with the opportunity as a UNCF/Gray Foundation Scholar to speak on behalf of the United Negro College Fund at UNCF’s 80th Anniversary & Commemoration, held at the historic Gracie Mansion, in Manhattan, New York, hosted by The Mayor of New York himself, Eric Adams. Tonight, we celebrated the strong legacy of the United Negro College Fund, a powerful organization that has helped to propel the dreams of more than 500,000 young individuals like me. It brought me great honor to share my story & accomplishments as a Howard University student, and aspiring attorney. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to those that made this occasion possible. A special thanks to Charissa Fernández , president of the Gray Foundation, Diego Aviles , vice president of the UNCF NE region, Tracee Senghor, UNCF Sr. Relationship Manager, and more.

We are proud to support free swim lessons for 2,000 second-grade students across NYC. Learning to swim is a vital life skill and safety initiative that should be available to all children.
