Whether you live in a busy town, or on a quiet acreage, community partner citizen-led groups make a world of difference in the work #YourAlbertaRCMP members do every day. Our partnership with the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA) has been instrumental in helping us connect with communities and other agencies to promote crime prevention across Alberta. This partnership also aligns with our mission to ensure safety through active community engagement. ACCPA empowers residents to take an active role in community safety. While policing is critical, law enforcement alone can't address all challenges. By joining ACCPA, members gain access to valuable resources, discounts on events, and opportunities to engage in local crime prevention initiatives. “When strong, engaged citizen-led groups work alongside law enforcement, we harness tremendous citizen power to create meaningful change,” says Jean Bota, Executive Director of ACCPA. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the collective efforts of our community members. Together, we can create safer, stronger communities across Alberta. For more information about ACCPA, its initiatives, and how to become a member, visit www.accpa.org.

Earlier this month, Deputy Commissioner Rob Hill and representatives from the Métis Settlement General Council, officially renewed their partnership. In April 2013, the original Memorandum of Understanding came into effect, outlining the duties and responsibilities of Alberta RCMP in providing enhanced policing services to Métis Settlement communities. For the past year, Alberta RCMP has been working with the Métis Settlements Councils to gather important feedback about the specific needs of their communities, in preparation for a renewed agreement. Part of this agreement includes enhanced policing positions for the Metis Settlements. Sgt. Hagen, pictured here is one of five Métis Community Liaisons in Western Canada, who works closely with Métis Leadership on recruiting and crime prevention initiatives specific to the Métis community. With a commitment to respecting the tradition, culture and values of the Métis Peoples. Alberta RCMP is dedicated to providing effective service delivery to all Métis Settlements, integrating community safety, social services, and cultural awareness. Together we are building safer, stronger communities. #YourAlbertaRCMP

For five years in a row, #YourAlbertaRCMP member Cst. Amanda Grouette, other members from the Fort Macleod detachment, Fort Macleod Fire Department and EMS have teamed up to host Sirens for the Season! The group headed through the town to show off their lights, greet community members, and collect food bank donations, and donations for Toys for Tots. All the items raised will go to families in the Fort Macleod area. Thanks to everyone for their generosity, the event was a huge success! #ServingJoy
