Beware the Witch Winds!! Witch Winds (or witch storms) is a regional term that describes the late Fall wind storms also known as the Witch of November. (As immortalized in "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald") In the Great Lakes Region, as Autumn progresses a stark temperature contrast develops. Strong, low-pressure systems pull down frigid Canadian air and simultaneously draw up warm, humid air off the Gulf. These collide over the Great Lakes to produce intense winds (and massive waves). In regards to a commercial roof, you want to be aware of some common weak spots. Winds can work themselves beneath roofing materials and create "uplift". If your underlying insulation or decking is compromised, this can lead to failed adhesives or fasteners. Flashings and fascia boards can be torn free of their mounts. Rusted decking or metal exhibiting compromised integrity can result in roof failures. Corners and edges of roofs, which naturally endure stress and effects of aging, will struggle to hold in place. Last year, we all went to try Sporting Clays, and had such a good time we booked our return trip right then. Mayville Gun Club knows how to host!! They're patient, accommodating, and offer instruction and support on the sports they love. Round Two was a success and enjoyed by all who attended.
