Did you know for-profit businesses are not allowed to have volunteers? 🤔 Under State law, only a handful of organizations are permitted to have volunteers: government agencies, public/private schools and higher education, churches and non-profit organizations. Saying Farewell to an Icon: Beaches Restaurant & Bar For over 30 years, “Going to the Beach” has meant something truly special in our community. Now, it’s time to bid a heartfelt farewell to Mark and Ali and the legacy they’ve built with Beaches Restaurant & Bar. More than a Chamber member, Beaches has been a vital partner during pivotal moments. During the Great Recession, Mark was one of those whose combine vision led to the creation of “NO Business After Hours”, a much-needed celebration for the business community. During the pandemic, Mark and Ali once again stepped up, partnering with GVC and Visit Vancouver WA, to host the weekly dinner pickup program, “Savor the Couve”, by allowing the various restaurants to stage their "courses" in the Warehouse ’23’s kitchen until they were picked up. Beaches has been a cornerstone for countless Chamber events—hosting Leads & Needs, Coffee & Connections, and more, while Warehouse ’23 became the setting for impactful gatherings like Women in Leadership lunches and Legislative Breakfasts. While we’re sad to see Beaches close, we celebrate the incredible partnership we’ve shared. We wish Mark and Ali a fulfilling next chapter, filled with well-deserved rest and new adventures. Thank you for making such a lasting impact on our community.
