When I first ran across GridWrap, Inc. my initial thought was "no, that can't be true". Turns out I was wrong. The inventive team behind this phenomenal product understands the details down to the molecule (literally) but isn't constrained by typical industry thinking that often tends to limit our options to "we have what we have and new things are too risky". But of course all the advances in the utility industry were, at one time, new things. Most linemen prefer a bucket truck to gin poles, A-frames and ropes. Substation engineers won't swap automated relays for electromechanical technology. This is what evolution looks like. Grid Wrap is one of those "new things" that will, one day soon, be an industry staple. Reflecting on Growth and Innovation CEATI T&D 2019 and 2024 Five years ago, I stood at the CEATI Transmission & Distribution Conference representing Tower Power Group, proud of our work and the relationships we were building in the utility industry. Fast forward to last week at the same conference, and the growth we’ve experienced is truly remarkable. This year, I had the privilege of sharing our booth with my new business partner, Keith Sones. Keith joined Tower Power earlier this year, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative strategies that have already had a profound impact on our company. Together, we’ve introduced groundbreaking products, including GridWrap—a cutting-edge solution that strengthens and reinforces wooden poles, extending their longevity, improving reliability, and incorporating fire-retardant properties for enhanced resilience. Our growth also includes a meaningful joint venture with Three Fires Group, an Indigenous organization based in Canada. This partnership reflects our commitment to recognizing and supporting First Nations communities while embracing sustainability and innovation in everything we do. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who visited our booth at CEATI this year. Your time, interest, and collaboration mean the world to us.
