Monday night, Griffin Media was honored to host the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum Teen Board at News 9. Amanda, Karl, David and Nathan spoke with the group about the role of the media in a democracy, shared insights on covering the big stories and spoke about their career paths and how to get involved in journalism. 

Last Wednesday, 98.5 The Bull turned 4 years old and celebrated with a Birthday Bash with Russell Dickerson at the River Spirit Casino Resort. Listeners had the chance to win tickets to this exclusive event and clients were invited as well. It was a great turnout! Oklahoma Own's Travis Meyer even made an appearance!

Congratulations to News On 6 chief photojournalist Oscar Pea! He's going to be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame this year. Oscar joined the News On 6 team in 1988, and he's traveled across the world to tell the stories of Oklahomans. Here at home, Oscar has covered thousands of crimes stories and some of the biggest stories in our state’s history. Thank you for all you do, Oscar, and CONGRATS on this well-deserved recognition!

Some exciting news to pass along! News 9's Dean Blevins will be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame this year. Dean has been with News 9 since 1997 and has held the position of sports director since 2001. He's a two-time Emmy Award winner & an eight-time Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year. Congrats, Dean, on this well-deserved recognition!
