About us

Groundswell is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to strengthening rural communities by lowering energy costs, enhancing resilience, and investing in energy-efficient housing. Through resilience centers (solar and battery storage), community solar, and home safety and energy upgrades, we’ve helped hardworking families save more than $8 million on electricity bills. Today, we’re delivering over $3 million in annual energy savings to more than 6,500 families, cutting electricity bills in half. By 2030, we’ll expand to 30,000 families—more than 17,000 in small towns and rural communities across the Southeast—building a stronger, more resilient energy future. Learn more at Groundswell.org.
