About us
Growing With Stories Every night, my father would share bedtime stories that he called "five-minute tales," though they often stretched far beyond five minutes. I would dread hearing the words "the end," wishing his stories could go on forever. My father was an engineer by trade, yet he possessed an extraordinary imagination, untouched by the exhaustion of his daily life or the heavy political climate of his homeland. Sometimes, I wondered what he might have accomplished as a writer, but as an immigrant with a family to support, his focus remained on working two jobs to provide for us. His days began at 4:00 AM and often included Saturdays, yet no matter how tired he was, he never missed our nightly story hour. Through his tales of heroes and villains, he transported me to distant lands and magical adventures, igniting a spark in my imagination. As I grew older and our "five-minute tales" became less frequent, I began to understand just how powerful a single story could be. Stories provided comfort, inspired creativity, fostered empathy, and strengthened our connection in ways that words alone could not. Though I later fell in love with psychology and chose a path as a therapist, storytelling has always remained one of my greatest passions. Listening to stories, crafting them, screenplay writing, and sharing tales with others are woven into the fabric of who I am. Decades later, that passion gave rise to Growing With Stories LLC, an endeavor inspired by the magic of those childhood tales. At Growing With Stories, we’ve embarked on a mission to create books that celebrate the resilience of the human spirit, inspire courage, and nurture empathy. We dream of using the universal power of storytelling to bring children together across cultures, focusing on themes that unite us all.
