This Thanksgiving we want to thank our client partners, their staff, board members, and volunteers for making the public sector so vital! Collaborating with you has been a privilege. ✨✨✨ We know that volunteers are the backbone of our collective work. They contribute countless hours of time and commitment to our nonprofit clients, making programs, plans, and projects possible that budget just don't cover. We are so grateful for your generosity and partnership! To nonprofits that want to strengthen your volunteer engagement, here's a guide to getting and keeping volunteers from Blue Avocado. Love that APPRECIATION is an essential part of their recommended process!

About us
Building Strength in Organizations Growth for Good provides strategic planning, event production, fundraising, government relations, marketing, and interim executive leadership expertise so that organizations can focus on what they do best: good work. Our goal as consultants is to strengthen our clients' abilities to effectively and efficiently serve their missions. We are deeply committed to helping organizations develop a more integrated and holistic approach to serving their missions, and accomplish this by rolling up our sleeves, listening carefully and working collaboratively. Our team has more than 100 years of combined experience in supporting organizations as they work to better serve their constituents. By drawing on our individual and shared areas of expertise, we are able to offer a wide array of strategic fundraising and marketing services. We approach every project, no matter how small, as an opportunity to build organizational strength through the collaborative process. We mobilize our resources to develop and deliver an achievable plan—whether it be overarching, as in a new fundraising strategy, or more tactical, as in grant writing, event management, communications or creating a website. Liverpool John Moores University, Holdsway, and The University of Manchester Business School released this report on effective Interim Executive Leadership. It's a treasure trove of information on the stages and context of transitional assignments, but the portion on individual psychological characteristics has a direct impact on improving this practice for nonprofit executive placements. The differences in personality, leadership approach, motivation, and competencies are even more relevant when selecting the right interim for an organization in the public sector. There is no surprise that these were the top talents for interims: Extroversion Agreeableness Conscientiousness Emotional Stability, and Openness. However, how you match the right personality based on where a nonprofit organization is in its integrative planning, maturity, financial sustainability, and interim focus during the assignment life cycle is very nuanced. A great read - see page 15-17! Thank you Alison Curry for sharing. If your nonprofit is considering an executive or development leadership transition, please contact Claudia Zeldin. Growth for Good is a team of passionate strategic planning, fundraising, and trained transition management consultants with diverse skills, expertise, and talent.

Nonprofit Executive Directors, Operations and HR folks - this free webinar on best practices for equitable developing hybrid work policies should be of interest. See you there!
Partner at Growth for Good, a nonprofit consultant and interim leader, with expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, board development, marketing, and branding.
As you may know, I’m a member of a think tank called Mission Control. We are hosting Emalee Rodriguez, founder of Together Together, to facilitate a free webinar on best practices for developing equitable hybrid work policies on Wednesday 12/4 at 8:30am. We will discuss how to navigate the complexities of hybrid work, especially for nonprofit organizations requiring direct client service. Key topics include defining equity vs. equality, accommodating diverse needs, decision-making processes, and building a strong organizational culture in a hybrid environment. Hybrid work can offer a higher level of flexibility, a better work-life balance, and a more tailored employee experience. It can be an important tool for retention and engagement. See you there! Thank you Heidi Sidley and OneDigital for your tech help.
Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Mission Control Presents Equitable Hybrid Work Policies – Best Practices. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Congrats to the Power Players in Education! Bravi!! Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eN-Rb8JK #powerlist #amnypp #politicsnypp How can policymakers support New York’s students and educators? Shari Levine: "Policymakers should recognize that literacy starts at birth... They can invest in community literacy programs that make literacy visible and valued for all children and support educators’ goals once children are at the schoolhouse door." Janice Weinman: "Policymakers must recognize the importance of the arts in impacting students’ motivation, independence, problem-solving skills and academic achievement."

If your nonprofit is considering expanding vs. going deeper, read this report from the Kenneth Rainin Foundation published by Philanthropy News Digest. Finding: "an organization’s readiness across a broad array of metrics -- as well as the rightsizing of goals were equally critical to success." Sometimes developing talent and board, efficient processes, refined metrics, improved technology, etc. should be the priority. We are deeply committed to building the capacity for our clients to fundraise and sustain. Strategic planning has to consider strengthing and growth across the organization. Growth and expansion are not always necessary to increase your impact.
