  • A Story of Courage on the Soccer Field: The Death Match Imagine a match where losing could save your life, and winning puts it at risk. This was “The Death Match,” a historic face-off between the Ukrainian team FC Star and the German Flakelf team during the Nazi occupation of Kiev in 1942. This beautifully illustrated and narrated book brings to life the moment when these players—survivors of horrors and prisoners of war—decided to face the Luftwaffe team. Why does a striker, after evading the defense, turn his back on the goal and send the ball to the stands? Because this was no ordinary match: winning meant defying oppression, and the players knew it. They chose to fight, even though the price of victory could be deadly. 📚 “The Death Match” invites readers, young and old, to explore the power of resilience and courage in the face of adversity. An essential work that not only honors history but inspires us to move forward, even in the hardest of circumstances. #publisher #books #bookpublishing
