Alex Simonson Good day everybody! I have a question. So my drivers got loaded at a Redbull Facility in AZ and they were supposed to deliver in NE. They went to the receiver and found out some of the pallets fell. They basically rejected the load. What happened was Redbull in AZ didnt secure the pallets properly. If it had been our drivers' fault, the pallets in the back had to fall but no. Only a few smaller pallets in the middle which were not secured properly by the shipper fell. The shipper themselves set the seal, so my drivers could even see how they loaded and secured the shipment. So that being said, the brokers from @FreightEx Freight Services with MC#609862 are threatening to open a cargo claim if we dont deliver the load back to AZ facility for free. How in the world they think we need to run for free with their damaged freight which was not secured by the shipper? How long can we as carriers bear this burden from this kind of brokers? • Fuel Efficiency Matters, Especially in a Tough Market 🛢️ In today’s low freight market cycle, every penny counts – and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) can make a huge difference in saving fuel costs. APUs allow drivers to run climate control and essential systems without idling the truck's main engine, which can consume up to 1 gallon of fuel per hour. With APUs, we can save thousands of gallons of fuel per year, reduce wear and tear on engines, and ultimately improve the bottom line. Being mindful of fuel efficiency isn’t just good for the environment; it’s crucial for maintaining profitability when margins are tight. Small savings add up – and in this market, they can be the differences that keep our trucks on the road. #trucking #logistics #supplychain #sustainability #fuel #oil

  • 🚛 Lost an RFP? Here’s What You Can Do Next 🚛 Losing an RFP can feel like a setback, but it’s also an opportunity to grow and refine your approach for the next round. Instead of just moving on, take the time to follow up strategically. Here are some steps to turn this into a learning experience and keep the door open for future opportunities: Ask Follow-Up Questions: Politely ask for feedback on why you weren’t selected. What were the key decision factors? This can provide valuable insight for improving future bids and grow relationships even further. Be accepting of feedback and open minded.  Seek a Backup Role: Offer to be considered as a backup provider. Things can change, and being the next in line could put you in a position to step in if needed. Stay Engaged Year-Round: Don’t let the relationship end with the RFP. Ask how you can stay involved through the year—whether it's smaller opportunities, providing updates, or just staying connected and communicating! Every RFP loss is a chance to improve and keep your name in the conversation for future projects. #logistics #trucking #supplychain #transportation #gtctrucking #rfp #pricing

  • 🛠️ Maintenance Moment: Keep Cool with Regular Cooling System Checks A well-maintained cooling system is essential for preventing engine overheating and ensuring optimal performance. 🌡️ Cooling System Maintenance Check Coolant Levels: Low coolant can lead to engine overheating. Always ensure your coolant levels are within the recommended range, and top off with the correct type as needed. Inspect Hoses & Belts: Cracked or worn hoses and loose belts can cause coolant leaks or failures. Regularly inspect them and replace any showing signs of wear. Radiator Health: Ensure the radiator is free from debris and clogs. A clean radiator allows for better airflow and helps prevent overheating, especially in warmer months. Coolant Flush: Periodically flush the system to remove rust, scale, and debris that can build up over time, reducing the cooling efficiency. Maintaining your cooling system can prevent costly breakdowns and keep your truck running smoothly on long hauls. #trucking #fleetmaintenance #safety #logistics #transportation #operations #gtctrucking

  • 🦺 Driver Safety Tip: Blind Spot Awareness Blind spots, or "No Zones", can lead to dangerous accidents. Knowing where these blind spots are can help you avoid collisions: Front Blind Spot: Extends 20 feet in front of the truck. Smaller vehicles can disappear from view here, so always maintain a safe following distance and avoid tailgating. Side Blind Spots: Trucks have large blind spots on both sides. The right side is especially dangerous and can extend up to three lanes wide, as is generally recommended, stay in the right lane as much as possible when driving. Rear Blind Spot: Extends about 30 feet behind the trailer. Since you can’t see vehicles directly behind you, always use caution when changing lanes or merging. Right Turns: Trucks make wide right turns, and cars can easily slip into the blind spot on the right. Double-check this area before turning. By staying aware of these blind spots and using your mirrors frequently, you can reduce the risk of accidents on the road. #safety #trucking #operations #supplychain #gtctrucking

  • 🛠️ Maintenance Moment: Frequent Tire Inspections 🚛 Keeping our fleet in top shape is crucial for safety and efficiency on the road. That’s why we prioritize regular maintenance checks. Regular Tire Inspections 1. Check Tire Pressure: Under-inflated or over-inflated tires can lead to uneven wear, reduced fuel efficiency, and increased risk of blowouts. Regularly check and maintain tire pressure according to manufacturer recommendations. 2. Inspect Tread Depth: Adequate tread depth is crucial for traction, especially in adverse weather conditions. Use a tread depth gauge to ensure tires meet the minimum tread depth requirements. 3. Rotate Tires: Rotating tires regularly promotes even wear and extends the life of your tires. Follow a consistent rotation schedule as recommended by your tire manufacturer. 4. Alignment Checks: Ensure your vehicle’s alignment is correct. Misalignment can cause uneven tire wear and affect vehicle handling. By maintaining your tires, you not only enhance safety but also improve fuel efficiency and extend the lifespan of your fleet. Let’s keep rolling safely and efficiently! #Trucking #FleetMaintenance #SafetyFirst #TireCare #Efficiency
