Miami is now #6 City in the US for early stage funding through SAFE and convertibles of up to 1m$ - right behind Austin and not far after Boston - confirming its positioning as incubator of early startups. Hopefully we will also see more #VC and #PE money come to South Florida, in particular in #AI, #Biotech and #Blueeconomy
Top US Cities to Raise SAFEs & Convertible Notes of $1M or less The top 4 cities (SF, NYC, LA & Boston) accounted for over 60% of these convertible rounds based on 4k+ rounds done on Carta over the past 12 months. Austin, Miami, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle and Denver round out the Top 10. #10 Denver-Boulder (84) had double the number of these early-stage rounds compared to #15 SLC-Provo (42), which is interesting. Shoutout to #19 Phoenix for making the Top 20. I'm excited that Founders N' Funders is doing an event there this week! Any cities on here that surprise you in regards to early-stage startup activity?
