Data shows a connection between eroded trust in leadership and burnout in the healthcare sector. A recent survey conducted by Deloitte found that:  ⚠️ Only 45% of frontline clinicians trust their organization’s leadership to do what’s right for patients. ⚠️ Only 23% trust their leadership to do what’s right for workers. How can leaders rebuild trust? 1️⃣ Listen, be transparent, and involve frontline workers in decision-making. 2️⃣ Restore meaning in a clinician’s job and elevate the humanity of health care. The demands of today’s healthcare system and the heightened emphasis on the bottom line may affect clinicians’ joy in caring for patients. Giving time and autonomy back to clinicians allows them to focus on patient relationships. 3️⃣ Involve frontline clinicians in leadership roles: Evidence shows that physician-led healthcare organizations generally do better in protecting the core values in medicine than non-physician-led organizations. 4️⃣ Hold leaders accountable for health workers’ well-being. Having supportive leaders prioritizing workers’ well-being can be critical in building trust. Some forward-looking organizations have created leadership positions like Chief Well-being Officers to lead efforts dedicated to workers’ well-being. While such roles are uncommon, clinicians say they can boost trust and reduce burnout. 🌟Subscribe to Daily Jam for more industry insights spread for you (link in the comments section)

"Vulnerability is our greatest measure of courage" Brené Brown ------------ Vulnerability is about taking the risks to emotionally expose and open up ourselves to others. Vulnerability is having the courage to authentically express who we really are in front of and to others. Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness; it is not revealing everything about us to everyone all the time, and it is not dark emotions or painful memories and feelings. Vulnerability at work improves the entirety of the human experience of people at work, including their physical and emotional health, reduces stress and anxiety, increases self-esteem and self-worth, reinforces psychological safety, builds powerful connections and belonging, and decreases depression.

You hold more power to create a positive work environment than you can even imagine. It's possible that that power is not to make decisions that have a company-wide impact but definitely the kind of power that can change one life or the way a small team operates. Don't relinquish that power. Believe in it. Embrace it. Use it. You can make a difference. These are eight things worth repeating every day. Believe them because that's the kind of leverage you have in HR.
